Man, that sucks. No one is going to want to buy PSA graded packs if they’ve been squished into the case like that. Completely takes away from the aesthetic of the pack. You’d probably have better luck displaying your packs in a shadowbox or something. Not in this case though, you already have the packs graded so there’s not much of a point.
They dropped the ball!!! Anyone who says otherwise is in complete denial. Refusing to fairly compensate a customer really brings my piss to a boil. My job depends on customer satisfaction so if the business or myself screws up I always, always, always offer fair and fast compensation. I mean where’s the accountability??!!!
I would give them another a call and ask them how they honestly think crinkled, dented and smashed packs are anywhere near the realm of Gem Mint 10. Really STRESS that point!!! Then I would DEMAND financial compensation. No free card submissions or packs submissions. That’s bullshit. Tell them you want your money back, Gav!!! Mistakes happen but you don’t deserve to be given the runaround like this!
Sorry to see all this. They really shock me with what they say and do from time to time. It really sucks when they don’t stand by their work and clearly let things slide. Nobody can honestly look at those crushed corners and say they are GEM MINT 10, expert or not. The whole financial guarantee thing is bullshit, they should have to buy it back regardless. Find a buddy to “sell” the rest of the packs to and then have them contact PSA about the same issues with the same cert #'s. I would just make sure these packs haunt them for what they did.
I have a very large pack submission now near business day 70 and they are giving me a hard time even offering to ship it back to me free for the delay. I imagine and almost hope these issues you are describing are part of the delay. I can’t imagine only your packs were affected, and they are probably dealing with a lot of issues right now. I hope it is all properly resolved before they keep shoving more packs in inappropriate cases.
Several years ago I got PSA to start grading foil packs. Thought it was a great idea. When I saw the finished product with the folded flaps (though nicely) I said it looked horrible. I never graded another pack and told everyone not to cause even when done carefully they look like crap.
Amazingly, thousands of Pokemon packs have been graded since and I seriously don’t get it.
My advice? Wait till a better presentation case is produced.
Well… I just got my packets back this morning. Got a chance to open them up in the last hour and have since made a video. It is currently exporting and will upload overnight.
That said, I have literally lost all faith in PSA and what ‘customer service’ is.
I am so absolutely *insert words here* about the entire situation and how it has been handled. I cannot call due to my time-zones and my work situation until Friday my time.
Did they re-case any or just send them back how they were? Any final photos if they were recased @xgav1337x? I also know you mentioned that one was docked a few grade points. A side by side with that and another that stayed at a 10 with similar damage would be interesting.
I just picked up my 76 pack order from the post office yesterday. Huge, heavy impressive packing box. I am quite scared for tonight opening it up and going through them. High % of 10’s but crossing my figures that they are true 10’s.
them handling packs incorrectly and damaging them doesn’t equate to you not liking the way they look when done properly. he should get financial compensation.
Video is currently unlisted. It will go public tonight when I get home from work.
With that said, this is the second day in a row that I have had no contact from either the Operations Manager / The CS Rep I have been dealing with. Both of whom I sent emails too…
Man their quality control is just disgraceful. It’s not cheap to use their grading service so shit like this shouldn’t even be happening. I know mistakes happen sometimes but considering the nature of their business they should be virtually unheard of. Major kudos to you for following through on this even though it’s such a hassle. Plenty of people would have just listed them on ebay and try to pass the buck off on someone else.
Depending on how many packs you have and how much they are actually worth (not my area of Pokemon expertise), I would consider drafting a small claims court summons against PSA, threatening legal action. Clearly, they damaged your packs and are in breach of contract . . . you paid for a specific service, which was not adequately provided (damaging your property), and they are unwilling to uphold their compensation guarantee which is explicitly stated on their site. I’m not sure how small claims works in California, but I believe most states allow the plaintiff to include incidental expenses as well (time, travel, legal representation, filing fee, etc). I personally wouldn’t spend the time and effort following through with an actual lawsuit, but a formalized notice citing the specific breaches of contract and the damages incurred is often a powerful motivator for businesses to do the right thing.
For example, I once bought (paid in full on day of purchase) a brand new Honda Scooter that developed an engine defect and leaked oil in the first 1,000 miles. The dealership was supposed to fix it under warranty within 30 business days (national law). After possessing my scooter for almost three months (most of the summer here in Minnesota) and not even beginning the warranty service, I went in to talk to the manager who had me escorted off the property when I asked for a refund or a replacement. He also refused to return my scooter to me so that I could take it to a different dealer, despite the fact that I owned it (again, had paid in full) and had documentation of the laws and warranty agreement with me. The next day a local police officer accompanied me to the dealer with a summons letter to deliver to the manager. Suddenly, everything changed. They had my warranty service completed the next day and provided some additional compensation for the trouble. I never did go back there, but I think you get the point. (Just thinking about this experience still gets my blood boiling!)
Would it please be possible for everyone to leave comments on the video regarding their thoughts. Even if its just a copy/paste from the forums to the video please? Just so that come the time PSA do reply and they see the video, they can see it is not just me who is telling them they have stuffed up?
They’re whinging about costs they incured whilst dicking you around and trying to push it under the carpet. Really poor form. Cranky is the G rated expression I’m very sure.
And who said it did “equate”?
My point was due to the folded flaps they looked like crap and when you start messing with foil, damage is quite possible. Hence, even though I started it I would never grade packs that ended up in those wax pack holders.
