Is it just me or...? $500

Man i cant believe they just arent helping at all.

I personally think graded packs look fine though. I’m sure they could look better, but they arent bad. I only have a Gem Mint Shadowless Base set pack, but i’ve considered buying others and probably will at some point.

After going through my packs last night, I found that I was fortunate to get the correct holders on the first go.

My 10’s look like 10’s and my 9’s look similar enough to those that I can hardly tell the difference. I actually got a few 8’s as well and at first pass they looked much better than most of your “10’s”. I am not great with the whole video thing, but I will see if I can get something done and sent over to you for comparison. I don’t think your first Venusaur error 10 that you showed should even be an 8 personally. Judging by the way they dock cards for corner dings, if they were consistent with packs I think half your packs would be ~PSA 6. Clearly this came from the improper use of the wrong cases, you have video/photo evidence the whole way through showing their errors. I can’t even imagine how difficult it would be to take any small claims court action as your international location complicates all of this. Their points about how “the guys upstairs” won’t like it is really just garbage.

No honest person could look at most of those packs and say they are anywhere near a 10. Some of these are damaged so bad that they may have even compromised some of the cards on the inside. Being realistic, I think going forward you should try and be made whole for your (original purchase price on all packs + all money paid to PSA/shipping companies on this order - market value of these damaged packs raw). I think you are going to have a very hard time getting full market value of PSA 10 for each, and hopefully down the line you can find sufficient raw replacements that you are happy with. Maybe down the line they will come up with a more attractive slab for these packs and then you can look into grading again (assuming they remedy this properly and don’t leave you with too bad of a taste in your mouth.)

Turns out the ops manager has been ‘out of the office’ for the last 2 days - still doesn’t explain why he didn’t see my email which i sent before that.

I spoke with a ‘manager’ who is going to speak with the ops manager, but I have to call back Tuesday [US Monday] as said manager has to look into what is going on.

I explained that no-one is helping me, refusing to answer my emails and tweets. I also told the ‘manager’ that this is the 3rd time these have come back and its clear these are not gem mint 10. That it has cost me a-lot of money, and that PSA have dropped the ball on my order regarding my contract with them to grade my items. That I work two jobs and “emailing” what has happened isn’t good enough. Firstly no one replies, and that I work customer service. I know what is expected.

Long and short… I have to wait 4-5 days before I can even call since PSA are not open on the weekend. :sob: :angry:

Turns out the manager I got on the phone today is the Customer Support Manager. So lets just see how good their skills are.

After all, 9 1/2 years of customer support at one of my jobs, I know how to keep MY customers happy.

Wild story, I hope all works out for you.

I understand your point, but you closed with “My advice? Wait till a better presentation case is produced.”

I was just pointing out that even if their presentation isn’t good, they still can’t damage the goods. anyone can see they did in this case. I agree with you they look like crap even when they are done right, but in this situation it isn’t right of them to act like the grades still hold up.

I didn’t want to start a beef with you or anything, from the few interactions we have had here I think you are cool dude

@mrchub - Thank you

Honestly, I would have given up by now. Your commitment is admirable. And for your support I also commented on the video

Lets see if I can get in contact with PSA today.

So I asked to speak to certain people and was put on hold and then hung up on. I call back and I get transferred to a different manager who I’ve had dealings with in the past.

I re-explain the situation, discussing all the photos and damage that has occurred, mentioning the videos, photos, YouTube videos etc that has happened over the months. I state in the latest video when they were returned, I showed them on camera and approximately 25 people individually have commented, mostly stating how bad they look and that PSA have dropped the ball on this. MGR said ‘that’s pretty insulting to our graders’. I mention that this has been going on for months now and there has been damage from day 1.

I ask if I can get damages back, and said person informs me she can only go off what was put on my submission form. I tell her well no. My damages of around $2,000 [give or take - just using a round number at this point] is based off the damages that have occurred after they were put in a case and shipped back. I was told I can only get damages for what was put on the submission form. I ask how that is fair and they replied ‘legally, that’s what we go off’.

Me: “So in theory, what do I put on the value of the form when submitting”.
MGR: “If you think it will get a GM10, put the price of a GM10 down”.

The manager I got this time won’t even consider taking them back. I stated many times that I am going to have a hard time selling this and will have to take returns on them and that I am really considering not using PSA in the future.

After pulling up my history, MGR said my $2,000 was unrealistic…

even though there are listings that could easily sell for that - [www.ebay.com.au/itm/3-1999-Pokemon-1st-Edition-Error-Base-Set-BLACK-TRIANGLE-Booster-Packs-PSA-10-/272630518005?hash=item3f7a0b90f5:g:iPAAAOSwx2dYI8VK]

…MGR is going to look to see if I can get my valve of the packets and grading fees given back to me, which is around $900ish

I really think I am done for PSA for a while…

@xgav1337x,

Sorry to hear about the situation. It sounds awful.

I’d like to understand more about where you’re coming from, though. Do you want PSA to reimburse you for the value lost on the packs? That is, are they worth less now than when you submitted them to PSA?

You are an inspiration. Don’t let those large institutions muck us around!

Yeah, I figured it would eventually come down to the value declaration. That should be something we all keep in mind as we fill out our sub forms. The second lesson is, if our cards didn’t fit in the holders without bending them would we still grade them? Well why accept a holder that doesn’t fit the pack without bending the pack?
IMO…Every single foil pack that’s been put into a wax pack holder looks like Snorlax poop.

I feel horrible for you Gav and wish there was something I could do:(
