FedEx Shipping - Possible Lost PWCC Vault Shipment

$250,000 collection and fedex would pay max $1000 in insurance on a lost package so I don’t think he wanted to send 250 different packages lol.

Usps registered mail. Up to 50k insurance per package. That’s the route you take.

Read the room folks. OP doesn’t need your input on insurance. Time and place jeez have some tact.

Fedex has been notoriously slow recently, common problem with collectors

Still no good news.

FedEx has no updates. Do any of you know if there’s a specified amount of time where FedEx will no longer attempt to deliver a package, even if it is found? For example, it turns up in some warehouse a month from now. The last representative I spoke to made it appear as if they would just hold the package at that point.

As for everyone commenting on insurance. Obviously I’m regretting my decision to not insure, this absolutely sucks.

I can’t imagine they wouldn’t deliver. At the end of the day their goal is to get the package to a destination. I doubt they treat packages as “too old”

Do you think it’s time to blow it up on social media? Or wait a bit more on them

Pretty sure they would still deliver it. You need to go on the aggressive now and make a big deal about what’s happened. There’s various ways to do this but you should try at least reach out to some news outlets and or lawyers to see what can be done.

@casual - I’m going to give it another week or so. Even if I did try to blow it up, my following on social media is marginal, at best.

Don’t underestimate the power of sharing posts in IG stories, you’ll get help without even calling for it, if you want to make it (more) public.

I understand what you’re saying but what grounds do I have in this situation? In my mind, I’ve screwed myself. It wasn’t insured or declared at a high value so no matter what I do - it’ll fall back on that & FedEx will have no liability. Hope I’m wrong, though.

That’s why I’d seek legal help to see what can be done and what rights you have here. I have heard of lawsuits going in the favor of the complainant despite the same situation as you. You have to be optimistic here and push your boundaries as much as you can.

@randox is correct, you need to get aggressive, medieval even. People end up in local newspapers when they win 100K, you potentially just lost 250K. The more people are made aware, the better.

It doesn’t matter how big Fedex is, losing a 250K shipment is super bad PR regardless of insurance. This needs to hit the media, hard.

Maybe it’s because I love the movie Cast Away but I have faith this will be found and delivered.

Yea In 4 years Tom Hanks may emerge with it and drop it on the door step.

Doesn’t matter if you have a legitimate case or not. Large companies like Fedex would prefer to avoid any legal action even if they’d undoubtedly win the case. Any legal action, even unsubstantiated, is costly and can turn into a PR issue. When you threaten litigation (best done in written format on an attorney’s letterhead) you automatically escalate your inquiry up the ladder into the hands of someone who will address your concerns more personally than an inbound phone rep. Fedex may respond differently than other companies would, I don’t know for sure, but it’s worth a shot.

Again this can all be done without actually filing a case/suit.

Didn’t Leonhart lose a 1st Edition Base Charizard sending to PSA? I don’t remember the details on what service he used and how long it was missing but if I recall right it was several months. With social media these days you can put a lot of pressure on companies. The sole purpose of a shipping company is to get the package from location A to location B safe and in a timely manner. So if the story blew up I would imagine they would want to try and resolve the situation.

Hey he never delivered Wilson. I’m still waiting for my volleyball…

Ya I think it was lost with USPS for like half a year and he eventually got it back.

@mewtuw maybe reach out to Leonhart and see if he can mention it in a video? It’s not really his normal brand of content but he has a massive subscriber base and might help since he went through a similar thing?

Just in general since you said you don’t have much of a social media following I’d reach out to some larger content creators that do, people are always looking for more video topics. Anything to bring more visibility to this and maybe force FedEx to actually search hard for it to deal with the bad PR.

I would be careful saying what the value is in the parcel. It could hamper the chances if the value is thrown around.

Do you have a claim against the shipment? (I am sure you already have) but you need to start pushing into FedEX’s recovery team. If they have tracked it down to Memphis, they can place a “recovery” on it which makes any manager’s aware this is a high priority shipment. Your best case is to kill them with kindness and stay on it. DO NOT wait another week. This too long of a delay and it will not randomly pop-up. I will totally help if I can.

@casual, I know you mean well, but there is no legal action you may take if not insured. Packages are all over the place right now. I am not a genius on this, but the company I work at, we ship over 3 million dollars in packages each year. My team is talking to FedEx every single day trying to get lost/delayed orders found.
