FedEx Shipping - Possible Lost PWCC Vault Shipment

Those Apple Air Tags looking real good right now

I haven’t yet sent anything to be graded but I’m planning quite a lot of high end vintage cards to send. So I will invest in a gps tracker for sure. There will be times when signal can dip out but at least you can see the movement or the last known location if you ever need to fall back on this. If mobile phones had good battery life you could burn a phone and use “Find my device” but modern phones suck on power efficiency.

Just got off the phone w/ FedEx… they have deemed it lost & based on what I’ve gathered, have essentially given up trying to locate my package. Absolutely devastated. I told him to keep looking but it’s a large company and what I say carries no weight.

Not sure what to do at this point. I’ve scoured eBay for some of the higher value items popping up but nothing yet. There’s no way that package just disappears. It has to be somewhere.

Tough to take this on the chin & move on.

Do you have cert numbers people can look out for?

I have individual pictures of every card. I’ll have to either upload the pictures or make a list.

I’ve never had it happen with an overnight service as I use them very infrequently, but in my thousands of shipments with USPS I have had a few times where the item was actually delivered while either never being scanned a single time or only having a few scans and then no further from one of their distribution centers along the path. Highly unlikely scenario, but have you messaged PWCC about any of this on the off chance somehow it actually made it to them? I presume your return address was your own, perhaps even call into the Fedex location you sent it through in case it was diverted back? Other than that not sure what else to suggest.

Gut wrenching to look through that spreadsheet. Definitely add cert numbers where possible and spread the word. So many cards just focus on the biggest hitters I guess. The risk of it falling into someone’s hands who knows what they are doing and who sees notices about these cards being lost/stolen seems quite low compared to the benefit of having many eyes looking out for them on the various marketplaces so yeah I’d spread that far and wide.

A link to the Google Doc including the cert numbers for all cards has been added. Please alert me if you see these anywhere on the marketplace. This absolutely breaks my heart because I know that I’ll never be able to afford to purchase these cards again. Worked really hard to acquire them & graded many myself.

It’s gonna turn up in a month or two when you have given up all hope

Seen it happen a few times

Really awesome collection for sure, some top notch cards in there. Sending over positive thoughts and wishing you the best.
Not much to really add, it’s a shitty situation for sure. I and others will def keep a lookout for those certs coming up for sale.

The fear of this happening should make others think twice before shipping their hind end stuff to PWCC, and to not send all the eggs in one basket. The “TO” address on the label going to a PWCC vault is like a giant “STEAL ME” sticker to any scumbag even semi knowledgeable about the trading card hobby.

It’s not going to help your situation, but it happened to me too. Back with PWCC had their promotion in March, I paid them for an insured label. It was supposed to be delivered overnight, but when I shipped my cards on March 15, 2021, it got stuck in Hawthorne, CA (I am based in Southern California, so according to the tracking updates, it never left my state). Waited a week, nothing. Ask them to do a trace, nothing. Waited a month, nothing. Got an email from PWCC saying that my cards were delivered on May 8, 2021, so almost two months. They even sent me pictures too. So, what you can do is contact PWCC that you sent out a package to them, but FedEx seemed to have lost it. Even though my shipment got delivered in May, I confirmed with them that it will still qualify for the promotion since I sent it out on time, and it was delayed out of my control. Your cards may be lost, but don’t give up all the way yet. You can also get refunded for your shipping label.

I just sent their customer service an email to give them a heads-up. And well, I hope my story is similar to yours. All I can do is wait. A 34 lb box just doesn’t disappear - it’s sitting somewhere.

Edit: Should I request a refund for the shipping costs now or wait? If I do it now - will they still attempt to deliver my package if it’s found somewhere?

You’re right. I, like many others have had parcels go missing but they have always eventually turned up in the end. I had a company lose a parcel containing a psa 8 1st edition base Charizard for over 2 weeks in their warehouse. We had to go through two investigations and they looked at cameras etc. I even had to launch an investigation with USPS to prove it was actually dropped off. It was incredibly stressful and I lost sleep! Everyone around me said it would turn up but I couldnt see that at the time. One day I woke up and they said they found it. Really hoping it’s one of those situations. It’s hard to imagine something that big could go missing as it’s not like a small package that could be tucked under a jacket.

Anyone happen to see anything yet? I’ve been searching by location on eBay but still nothing. Still can’t believe this is really happening.

I’m almost hoping to find something on eBay because I feel like that’s my only shot for a case against FedEx.

This is very sad to read, I really hope it turns up. Often it does eventually turn up somewhere.

Whilst not an overnight delivery, if it makes you feel any better a USPS package I’ve been waiting on arrived in New York yesterday after having departed from Boston over 3 weeks beforehand with no other tracking updates:

I can certainly echo what’s been said above that packages do disappear and magically reappear eventually. Chances are your package is just at the bottom of a pile in the far corner of a warehouse somewhere and has since been completely swamped by other packages - do definitely keep an eye out for your certificate numbers appearing, but don’t lose hope.

Sounds familiar. I prepared a package on May 3rd and shipped it on May 4th towards the US. Got one update on May 4th (received by local post office when I left it there and they scanned it), and one update on May 5th (received by regional shipping center within my country - I’m from The Netherlands btw).
After that silent for more than a month and we were afraid it was lost or stolen. In the past I usually get another status “received by international shipping center without my country”, and then “inbound towards destination country”, but they for whatever reason skipped those status updates on the tracking this time and we had no idea whether it was already inbound towards the US or not.

Then on June 13th it finally updated in Chicago. Since it’s in the US after 1.5 month instead of still in my own country both me and my friend were happy to see that update… Now let’s hope it’ll arrive soon at its destination (by the looks of it it’s nearby now).

PostNL tracking:

International tracking:

I also have a package from Australia that was at customs in Amsterdam for about 1.5 week (which happens sometimes unfortunately), but now it’s also been three days on its supposed journey from Amsterdam to my local post office, which usually takes not even a full day in the past…

Post in general is a mess right now, and pretty unpredictable. I had a package from Germany that arrived after a month (note: Germany is my neighboring country and just a few hundred kilometers away from my home… it would have been faster if I’d fetched the package myself by foot :unamused: ), and I also had a package from South Korea (almost on the other side of the planet) arrive within just 8 days two weeks ago, which was very surprising.

Anyway, 11 days and counting for overnight shipping indeed sounds pretty worrying, but in my experience during this pandemic it’ll probably update and arrive eventually. I keep my fingers crossed it’ll update and arrive at your PWCC Vault any day now! :slightly_frowning_face:

Did you hear anything useful from FedEx themselves regarding their investigation?

Greetz,
