FedEx Shipping - Possible Lost PWCC Vault Shipment

@jawsh98 - Yes, there is a claim outstanding for the package. I’ll have to check into the recovery team aspect… The only people I’ve spoken to are the ones within tracing.

Maybe you meant someone else? I think causing a social media stink is a solid plan. Lawyers are not something I mentioned

I’m going to preface this by saying that what I’m about to say is NOT legal advice and should not be taken that way.

But it’s obvious that some people in this thread have a lack of understanding when it comes to lawyers and legal services. “Get a lawyer” and “send some legal letters” are things that are being tossed around here, but I’m not sure you guys know how much these services cost, and exactly how much they’re going to help (or actually hinder) the situation. If you are not familiar with the costs and risks associated with threatening legal action, please do not blindly push OP to do it.

Oh yeah that’s me. Surprised someone recognized me here, outside of Twitch…I hang out in the E4 discord a lot nowadays, rarely post on the E4 forums though.

Anyways, sorry for derailing the thread a bit. OP, please keep us updated on any news or if you decide to do some sort of social media outreach.

Pmed you about this Mewtuw.

If anyone else is thinking about sending to PWCC and has any questions or needs a hand please dm me. Also, if you need a hand getting a pre-insured shipping label for anything being sent to PWCC reach out to me and I’ll make sure that you have access to one.

I recently sent to the PWCC vault from the UK and sadly there aren’t any PWCC shipping labels to be had for international packages (as far as I know), and it did strike me that they aren’t using a PO Box. Anyone handling the package can see visibly that it’s destined to go to the PWCC Vault, which can’t help the odds of packages going missing even if the number is small to begin with.

With the value of this shipment, have you thought about traveling to Memphis? And inquiring in person? I know Memphis FedEx is the global hub, so it may be different than my experiences, but I have picked up packages and dropped off packages after hours at regional hubs a few times. Usually there is a way to get a real person to help you at the regional places and they are way more knowledgeable than anyone over the phone. Just a random internet strangers 2 cents though, so take it with a grain of salt.

Chance that someone who knows what PWCC is, is one of the couple of people handling your mail AND they are a package thief?

Super super slim

Not to mention it would be dumb for someone to risk their job without knowing the contents of what’s inside the box. Not all packages going to PWCC are 6 figures. Also it’s a whole 'nother mission to walk out with the box without getting caught.

Employee theft is very real, is the most common form of retail theft, and always makes me concerned sending to a grading company or PWCC.

i’ve had packages stuck in Memphis for 4 weeks before if that makes you feel slightly better. Eventually got sorted

Sure, but I would be very surprised if mail theft at a sorting centre is anywhere close to the theft level of actual retail employees.

Stealing tracked items is a completely different game to just stealing something from a shelf

Not to mention that mail theft is a federal crime and a felony (regardless of the value of the mail stolen) and so typically carries with it much harsher penalties than retail theft. Mail theft isn’t uncommon, but it’s much more uncommon than retail theft.

Definitely not a logistics expert, but I would have thought that the least likely point in the shipping chain for a package to be stolen was at a central hub like this, because of cameras, areas busy with other people, general security measures etc. Lost or damaged, perhaps. But when I think of packages being stolen, I imagine that taking place in transit. Someone who has worked for a courier can tell me I’m wrong, though.

Very late to this thread but in case you paid shipping costs with a credit card, the credit card company may help you out. American Express especially

I spoke to a rep who told me if they pay out a claim, they’re no longer liable to deliver the goods - even if they do show up somewhere down the road. So… Spoke to two separate reps to withdraw my claim, neither did their job. Received an email this morning saying my claim was approved for a whopping $100 when shipment costs alone was almost $350.

Going to call later to see if I can have it reversed or something… Obviously I want the package found instead of a measly $100. Super pissed at the incompetence of FedEx.

The nightmare continues.
