FedEx Shipping - Possible Lost PWCC Vault Shipment

I’m so sorry to hear that. My heart goes out to you as it’s such a horrible situation to be in. There’s still hope it turns up somewhere along the line! I’ve heard of parcels go missing for months and all of a sudden it just turns up.

I would say I was given incorrect information from a rep and want it reversed. Hopefully this has a good ending. We’re all rooting for you!

Sounds like Fedex is run by a bunch of chucklefucks. They lost my 6k package last year. Didn’t do shit about it either.

Here are the safety recommendations from PWCC. Any indicator on the label that the contents may be valuable should be avoided and is why I get stressed mailing to grading companies. You only need one employee to be aware. It’s a further perk of a P.O. Box, abbreviation, or other name instead of sending a package to “Qwachansey’s Rare Valuable Trading Cards LLC”

As for mail fraud, the penalties are harsher than petty larceny, yes. But they may be less severe than you might expect for mail theft. For one you have to get the federal government to care enough vs state DA.

Out of curiosity I did some digging on a recent indictment related to FedEx theft:
www.justice.gov/usao-wdtn/pr/us-attorney-announces-indictment-11-former-fedex-express-employees-and-two-former

The court records are mostly available for the public on the PACER system with sensitive information redacted. The sentences based on the guilty plea settle agreements are light, a mix of time served, probation, or up to 3 years prison depending on the individual.

Some retail theft is from opportunity - “how easy it would be to take some holiday gift cards here and then!” Other is from desperation - debt, despair, drug addiction, etc. In the above case, the amount stolen was far less than OP’s, but it is a reminder that just because something is a felony does not mean you will get the maximum sentence. For example, this person opportunistically stole $1,500 of cash and gift cards from people’s mail when it looked like holiday gift cards. His punishment was to return $1,500 to the victims and 12 months probation.

@fiery, no, I would do whatever they suggest. PWCC Marketplace Submission is already much less of a value signal than Pre-War Card Collectibles Auction Submission

Same. Had a 1.5k package lost and was definitely my worst experience with them.
UPS on the other had, never failed and actually have been the best in customer service from my experience.

No good news as of now & not expecting there to be any at this point.

Thanks for everyone’s suggestions / words of encouragement. Use me as an example to always insure high value items.

This is absolutely soul crushing & I hope this never happens to anyone else. Please keep an eye out for those cert numbers & alert me if one pops up somewhere… I’ve just been checking eBay so far.

@mewtuw, Are the only 1st Edition cards the 1st Edition Base and the rest jungle, neo, fossil etc unlimited? I will definitely keep an eye out for you on all marketplaces I use.

No - all the cards that had a 1st ed print, are 1st ed.

Insane. If you start a ‘GoFundMe’ of sorts where people can donate cards to start rebuilding your collection, I (and tons of other people, I bet) would be more than happy to contribute. I can’t even imagine how I would deal with losing my entire collection. What a terrible situation :slightly_frowning_face:.

I concur. I will donate as well if you start one, @mewtuw

Is that possible to do? Can a Private citizen fly there and bring them in person(PWCC Vault)? Someone already made that Step and could give a Overview whats good to know?
Does that, if that is an option, require specific Things? Is it something only Highendcollectors/Uscitizens can do or everyone?
How it would work out i mean call it paranoia , do you give it to an offical Support and you get some form of Paper that works like a warranty?
Ofc flying there specific for Pokemon would be to expensive but maybe there comes a Time a Us-trip can be the Option to do that too.
Maybe i wont do that at all, but it cant hurt to know already ^^

@zorloth - How would I go about starting something like that? I appreciate the generosity.

Not sure. Maybe could create a thread for it?

I wouldn’t trust UPS either. Had a PSA Sub package gone missing and they’re giving me the run around exactly the same as Fedex with OP. Had the same happen a few years ago with DHL Express. None of them are trustworthy.

I’ll never ship high value packages without private insurance again. There are shipping providers who have contracts with an insurance company which will reimburse you for 70 to 80% of market value if the package gets lost in transit. In most cases that’s better than what you’ll get from the shipping company (nothing usually, unless you go to court).
Sorry for your loss OP…I know what it feels like :slightly_frowning_face:

I was quite surprised today to receive a FedEx Express international package. I had placed an order on eBay from Japan in early April. It was shipped April 8, delivered to the Memphis distribution center the same week, and then radio silence. During the times I called, FedEx told me there was nothing they could do and that it had cleared customs but they couldn’t account for the package. In late May the eBay seller issued me a refund and opened a claim with FedEx.

I was annoyed because it is not easy to find mint unlimited WCP gold stars but grateful to be refunded. I just messaged the seller the news. The package exterior is roughed up but the cards inside were fine. I hope this can provide you a glimmer of hope regarding Memphis delays @mewtuw !

Memphis distribution center taking turnaround time tips from PSA… Seriously though that definitely gives some hope that the PWCC package is still in the distribution center… somewhere…

yeah, and having a database of missing cards and their cert # can make sure no stolen goods will be sold on the secondary market without repercussion.

i lost a psa 9 1st ed charizard in the the USPS mail in 2019 - only partially insured it. i should post the cert of that card…

Those fedex paper envelopes do take a beating. I always prefer the bubbles.
