Every Base pack, especially 1st ED will have value in the other cards. Its by far one of the best EV packs in the hobby.
What kind of comparison is this?
1 Base booster box will have 12 holos out of the 16.
1 booster box of EVS will likely have nothing. Maybe a $2 Lycanroc FA if you’re lucky.
Your profile pictures has me believe you are biased
I’m sorry to see that you had a bad box, this can happen with any sets. Hope you didn’t stop at your first box.
In general, one booster box of will yield, 5-6 V card, 2 Vmax, 1-2 secret rare. I am not including holos and reverse holos (+5 to 10) , so hits you will have for sure, value is another story.
Of course, your secret rare is another thing, you can hit big and get an alternate art either a V or Vmax secret. Even there depends on the type of alternate art , you can break even, lose or gain a lot.
But I believe this is true with any booster throughout time.
PS: my icon is about eevee heroes, which is the japanese counterpart, so not evolving skies. I’m biased, maybe, because just love the eeveelution regardless of their age: modern, vintage etc… Just gave my opinion, and not intending to represent everybody, so just personal.
I realize that items within the UK and EU often fetch higher prices. This is expected since the alternative is to pay high import fees when buying internationally.
However, this is just ridiculous.
It is almost as ridiculous as the PSA 7 Special Delivery Charizard that sold yesterday for $68+ $5 shipping.
Those that get the pulls they want will call it the ‘best set’. Individual experience plays a huge role in bias
this is not the correct EU pricing. You can get them for as low as 245 which is close msrp. As usual, i would be very careful at ebay’s current price& i would neither trust the last sold as it can easily be manipulated.
For modern booster, i would not pay more than msrp for popular sets and lower than 120 for meh sets (sword & shield base, rebel clash)
Please do your research (aimed at impulsive buyers, especially the one that fomo (disconnect from youtube for a couple of days if you are hit by this virus )
Small update:
Booster boxes have stabilized around $255 before tax.
I wonder what will happen over the coming months. Holiday season is just around the corner.
I wonder if the 3 loose packs of ES in the Charizard UPC will have any impact. Might give people their itch to open a bunch of packs
I’ve been thinking about this too. And the possibility that some of the “36 loose packs of Evolving Skies” listings are broken down Charizard UPC boxes.
They might be going for that on TCG player, but they are still regularly selling for $240 on ebay.
There is a major seller on there with a large quantity available at like 237.
This store at $250?
Or TT?
Yeah, TT seems to be selling a bunch.
Just felt like mentioning loose packs are still easy to find in many products. I just got 3 cases of the divergent power tins for 250$. 36 packs of ES, 36 packs of Astral Radiance and 18 of Brilliant Stars
People who have an itch to open packs are not the ones paying $255 for booster boxes lol.
Plus loose packs are widely available.
Honestly, the best sets in SwSh are certainly not English. They have the ingredients of the best sets, but theyre completely lacking meaningful execution imo. I personally prefer the gen 4/ legends arceus sets.
EVS gives me ex era vibes. Like yea, you could pull the gold star, but are you really going to? Now the sets are bigger and theres a shit ton of product. Theoretically, i still think theres value in the ‘set with amazing chase card(s) + terrible ev,’ but its risky buying into that for $200+, a year out.
The main issue with modern in general is there is always a better set and a better chase card right around the corner, people move on to the next big thing very quickly
Sword & Shield Base Set booster boxes are around $230 and Rebel Clash booster boxes are $200 plus now. Both of these sets are much weaker than Evolving Skies, but IMO they didnt get as mass printed as the rest of the SWSH block.
