yeah, is that pull rates just exceptionally low for Raichu, or are the other HRS like that? If so, I’m glad, since I just pulled one, myself lol. I havent seen nearly any on ebay or on instagram, so maybe it’s true, but still.
saw someones rayquaza and it was oc to hell. I was like yeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Hopefully the pull rates are as shit as the centering! especially on the ultimate secret rare lab mewtwo
I think im gonna buy a case of the booster boxes… MAY i be blessed with the shittest pull rate on efour with no psa 10 candidates… that will tell us alot about the future of this set.
I know TPCI is printing massive amounts of Shining Legends product, but from my own experience with about 20 ETBs opened and a few Mewtwo Pin boxes opened, as well as talking to some of those who’ve opened in excess of 1,000 packs each…I think the low pull rates is going to shock + surprise some people.
Sure, there might be an initial flood of some of the ultra/secret rares that go for “relatively low” dollar values on eBay and the like, but I do think that at some point demand will outstrip the supply and the baseline/price plateau for Shining Legends Hyper/rainbow rares + Shinings will be a lot more than people anticipated and that it will come sooner than later. Between the low pull rates + centering issues on these English prints, people are not going to have fun having to spend a ton of money, even on singles, to complete PSA 10-worthy sets.
I believe he said all HRs are extremely, extremely low pull rates but he had quite a few less Raichus than everything else, including the Lab Mewtwo.
I don’t agree. The fact that this is a highly anticipated set and everyone wants it only benefits the set to being one that will be sought after in years to come by collectors. People should never collect cards because they are worried about how much its worth or oversaturation . It should be collected because they like the way a card looks or love for the cards in that set. The fact that more people are grading shows how much the hobby has grown. Some might be grading thinking they can make a quick flip. That’s the thing many don’t understand though. This hobby isn’t about flipping, not to say that occasional flippers arent good for the hobby but the truth is overall it isn’t about flipping. It’s about getting something you can afford and keeping it because you enjoy it for years and years, only to sell because you want something else. It’s those kinds of hobby collector’s that prosper the most. Those who wait and enjoy the TCG for what it is and collect tons of cards over many many years and keep them all. The fact that there will be many graded cards out there isn’t not something to worry over. Since the hobby is only ever growing due to social media. The new sets will never catch up to WOTC prices but they will continue to grow in price and will become hard to attain over time due to more and more people joining the hobby. Price will always drop at first. Base set was no different before as well. It’s time that increases sales price with the occasional flippers throughout the years to inflate prices.
Is this roughly the standard for this set? We’re back at 2012 if so. I think it’s a little better of a dichotomy to have a shit ton of cards produced but also be in shit condition. That makes 10s have solid future value but the cards are still accessable for collectors. Or they could do good condition and just control the print runs/reintroduce 1st Ed. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I don’t want my rice to be valuable because everyone else is starving. I’d rather everyone just have rice.
Set production quality is trash. Pokemon returns to giving middle finger to collectors. I’m not desperate for contrived long-term value. I just want to open a pack of cards and know they’ll be in good condition. I feel like a crazy person for having to ask that like it’s a reasonable request and not a basic expectation the company should be meeting.
Geez that’s terrible condition from a pack. I was thinking about picking up the Shining Legends Elite Trainer box but I don’t know anymore, I like the look of Japanese Shinings much more but I haven’t missed any English release so far. But at the same time I really don’t like to pull cards that are on bad condition… argh. Why. Why is it so hard for them to look after quality?
My respect for Japanese cards is rising all the time because you never ever pull cards with edge wear… You can usually expect to pull mint cards, I’m not saying gem mint but… Mint! Actual pack fresh cards. Damn.
I’ve pulled 23 Shinings from early ETBs/pin boxes and every single one had mint edges/no whitening, but more than half were off-centered…still had no problems selling all the off-centered ones for a decent amount on eBay. Did have to buy a few other mint Shinings off someone to complete 2x 10-worthy sets to send to PSA though.
Like I mentioned earlier in this thread, the low pull rates of Shinings (much more so Hypers/Lab Mewtwo though) from this set coupled with atrocious centering/print issues is going to make people absolutely miserable trying to chase 10-worthy cards without spending a decent chunk of change.
Is this confirmed to be getting multiple print runs though? Thought distributors were even being limited with initial orders because TPCI wasn’t going to print this set into oblivion as bad as Evolutions or S&M…I still think prices will plateau higher than expected.
Eh, i’m never into newer sets for any margin of profit, I normally grab the singles I want or some boxes here and there and grade 10s for my own collection, sell duplicates and call it a day…no different for Shining Legends. I really do think this will get a lower print run as an in-between set compared to Evolutions or S&M sets though…of course, I could be way wrong, and that’s totally fine.
