Glad to see this thread taking off. Collection goals is what it’s all about. And we all adjust collection goals as needed. I’ve enjoyed hearing everyone’s goals and looking forward to hearing everyone’s else’s goals or adjusted goals down the line

Long term goal that i have been working on since 2015 is psa 10 of every bulbasaur with base set artwork from unlim/1st ed in every language. Still missing about 40% of it, but getting closer each month 
Another long term goal is every meiji silver/gold/blue prism promo in psa 9 or better. got a good chunk of that taken care of as well.
Besides that i don’t have many other huge goals except maybe owning a snap bulbasaur one day. (in my dreams)

Short-term Goals: Finish up my Vending Series (M) and Gym Challenge (NM/M) binder sets. Just about there. I just need a non-holo Blaine’s Ninetails and a couple uncommons for the latter.

I am probably 40 Holos and 3 promos away from being finished all my WOTC goals. Dang E series having 32 Holos per set! Then idk what’s after that. I’ll have to really think of something else.

I still need Aquapolis and Skyridge which is like 64 holo’s so I feel your pain and those sets are far from cheap. Expedition on the other hand was great for price point. I paid $450 for all Holo’s in singles originally for Expedition

My long term collection goals are:
9th Lucky Stadium - it’s my favourite card, with my favourite art, with some great history. Pretty much my grail.
1999 Tropical Wind - currently saving up for this, but I’m having fun making smaller purchases of cards and memorabilia I enjoy so it’ll take a little longer to get. I’m happy with that though
Binder with all the cards by specific artists (Hajime Kusajima, Kanako Eo and Tomokazu Komiya) - I haven’t made a start on this directly, and some of the cards I already own have their art, but I’d like to have a copy specifically for the binder.
My short term goals are:
English Worlds Promos - specifically the Tropical Wind, I’m nearly there. Just need variants of the 2004 and of the 2009 with the DP25 error.
Ninetales binder - I have every Ninetales card printed in English except for 4th print base set and “no damage” (and the newest sets but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
Mysterious Pearl - it’s my favourite out of the lot. I like the diamond and the piece of metal but I feel like I want to accomplish my other long term goals first so they’re in the back burner as a “maybe”.
It’s been fun reading everyone’s goals. Nice to know that even people who’ve been in the hobby forever still have things they’d like to achieve

Complete my PSA 8/9 1st edition Base holo set. Just ninetales left! Then to finally find a psa 10 1st ed base wartortle I need to finish off my non holo starters in PSA 10. After that add a few more psa cards to my charizard collection.

Great thread, sticking to goals is something I definitely need to work on.
Since restarting in January I now have a Venusaur 1st edition base psa 9 and the money together to purchase a Blastoise to match and a Rayquaza gold star just because I love it. Sadly these 3 cards in psa 9 have more than doubled in price but thats life.
From then on, I plan on working my way towards a 1st edition base Charizard hopefully in psa 9. This may take the rest of the year. I aim to collect alongside the Zard. Namely, EX series reverse stamps in psa 10. I want to slowly tick them off over time and acquire as many as I can get. Seeing as theres hundreds to collect, and most aren’t too expensive, I should have a fun time trying to catch em all.

I get what you mean but with enough determination you can accomplish it :-). If you read my first post in this thread I definitely set my goals high. I just made abunch of progress towards my collection goals last night with a big 100 card or so purchase. I’m really close to being caught up. One last era I want to hurry and get then I can collect at a somewhat slower pace. Not many people are running to collect X and y haha. Or brand new sword and shield cards. I can definitely be patient on those vs this rush I’ve been in to finish the other eras 
Nothing too crazy in the near future at least as I’ve gone over my budget for the time being. I’d like to finish my PSA 9 set of Japanese Southern Islands though, just need three more cards.

Currently finishing my four variations of base set binder (1st ed, Shadowless, Unlimited, 4th print) plus base set errors and gold stars.
Never realized binders were this much fun.

That’s the exact goal I’m working on now! A lot of the old mint cards have already been cherry picked from people’s collections, so my goal is to collect them in 8/9 condition. I’ve been grading them all myself. The easiest I’ve found is the vending cards, since unpeeled sheets are still available.

My main goal for the next few years is to self-grade a complete 1st edition base set with holos at PSA 7+ and non-holos at PSA 9+. I may have to settle for lower grades for the big 3, or just buy them. The entire operation is to be funded by buying and selling other cards. I expect this to take several years, assuming it’s even possible at this point.
I started this goal in January and so far I have 5 holos sent off to PSA along with 40+ non-holos that are mostly commons with some duplicates.
I’m also working on:
- Base 1st/Shadowless/Unl binder set
- Jungle/Fossil/Rocket 1st binder set
- Stamped World’s promos
- Cards depicting Pikachu on a surfboard

I have my old collection goals to re-attempt and my newer collection goals that i’m currently active at.
My old goals where binder finds:
*JR. rally meowth
*E3 red pikachu
*Prerelease clefable
*opened Deck B starter deck… would love to find one that is not sealed for my binder…
