One prediction I already did in the 30th Anniversary First Partner Illustration Collections (Series 1 March 30, 2026) thread:
As for some other predictions:
- Base Set Pikachu will defintely get another reprint of some sort, as usual. Happened with the 10th anniversary; 20th anniversary (twice); and 25th anniversary (twice), so why not with the 30th as well. Not that I’m complaining tbh, since I like Base Set Pikachu reprints.
- Base Set Charizard reprint as well.
- Maybe another new TCG language

The CP6 contained some 151 Mega Pokemon as the main hits, gonna just go big and predict Mega Charizard Z, Mega Blastoise Z, Mega Venusaur Z, and Mega Mewtwo Z to be announced down the line in 2026 and be part of the main hit for the anniversary set once again.

I feel and think expectations are pretty dampened. I see people hoping, but I don’t think people actually have high expectations.
Will it be lower than the 25th? Its a pretty low bar. It was all fine and dandy quality wise but sparse quantity wise.

In hindsight the most creative parts were the english exclusive promos included with celebrations(Zacian Lv X, Greninja Gold Star)

The rest of the hype was in sets, 2021 had a meteoric rise of interest with the return of special art V/VMAX. But I can imagine TPC winding down on sets this year and distributing only promos that will be available in all languages (i.e. no exclusives). They’re in a too big to fail state and cannot keep up with demand

the 20th they did sooo much stuff! They made like 6 different 3ds family special edition consoles. Tons of cards. tons of plushies. did a animated mini series. They went all in. 25th felt barren and I do think in part, covid has something to do with it, but they should have had a lot more lined up. So, with the renewed interest, I have no idea if they’ll go big, or keep it more reigned in. 30 isn’t a number people think much of. But another 5 years is an awful long way out, and thats an even more awkward number. So 40th is just too far out and who knows what things will be like then. Maybe pokemon will lose all popularity and we will all be big fans of something else by then.

I predict cards that are only obtainable in limited product. Like the metal Charizard and Pikachu in the 151 Set. Product that will never hit the shelves because store employees, friends and family will hog them. A really slow paces unclear release schedule of way to many different packaging with slight variations so you never really know what you going to get. More product having just one 30th Anniversary promo in it but no 30th booster packs like the Pokémon Day 2026 Collection. € 29,99 for 3 Mega Evolution-block packs and a Pikachu promo is just organised crime.
I hope it contains as many reprints as possible. Like let it have a 30th Stamped Moonbreon to tank the prices.

I really hope that is the stamp they use instead of the pikachu head but I know in my heart that isn’t what is going to happen.
