Two things: firstly i think the english name for this set is nothing short of terrible and also the little background story to this set is very strange… rifts in the sky wtf? Is this like in the anime or something? Big love for mega scizor though.
Greninja BREAK, Mega Scizor EX, AND Shiny Mega Gyarados? Yes please. I agree that the backstory is a little…uh…over the top.
Also, 11 Pokemon-EX?! That’s the same as Bandit Ring. Hopefully we will see SR pull rates back up again to help compensate.

11 EX for the English set. You can bet your ass they will throw in at LEAST 2-3 promo EX cards that we haven’t had English prints for yet. Watch Aurorus EX be one of them.

Agreed. However Aurorus-EX is confirmed for a box, and M Mawile/M Aero won’t be in the set as the release says only 2 Mega Evolution Pokemon. Palkia EX and Golduck BREAK might make an appearance in the set though.
Yeah typical TPCi bloating English releases so people spend more on packs. I wish they’d get more creative with some of their releases, instead of things either being in some ridiculous EX Box or shoehorned into a set.
Why would palkia EX and golduck BREAK be featured in the set, weren’t they just released in a deck?

Makes me glad I never started with the newer English sets, Wotc till old ex series are the only English cards I will ever buy.

10 FA’s in the set likely. Unless they put that FA Skyla in the set then we will get 11. In a Sealed case, you “expect” to pull a full set unless there are more than 2 Secrets. So probably about 1.5 FA’s per box. Which is alittle lower than the last set I believe. As we had atleast 15 FA’s in Ancient Origins… (If you count Ray, Groudon, + Kyogre)

But seriously…that Gyarados-EX is hideous. Eske Yoshinob really needs to stop illustrating these EX cards, it’s terrible. Thankfully they’ve given the full arts over to better artists.
Translations if anyone’s wondering:
Gyarados-EX – Water – HP180
Basic Pokemon
[C] Wet Weather: Flip a coin until you get tails. For each heads, search for your deck for a [W] Energy card and attach it to this Pokemon. Shuffle your deck afterwards.
[W][W][C][C] Splash Bang: 130 damage. Does 10 damage to each of your Benched Pokemon.
M Gyarados EX – Water – HP240
Mega Evolution – Evolves from Gyarados-EX
When 1 of your Pokemon becomes a Mega Evolution, your turn ends.
[C][C][C][C] Blast Geyser: 120+ damage. You may discard the top 2 cards of your deck. If you do, this attack does 20 more damage times number of [W] Energy attached to this Pokemon.
At first glance this mega looks pretty terrible, but it could be viable in expanded with the Archie’s Blastoise archetype that won Worlds this year. Also the special water energy that we should get might make this more viable.

I think I’m part of the group that would’ve preferred that they just did a regular Gyarados/M-Gyarados instead of the shiny alternate. At least for Ancient Origins/Bandit Ring they had the whole Hoopa thing going on to justify the black Hoenn trio but putting Red Gyarados on the cover like this makes it seem way too over the top and cheesy. Since that ship has already sailed though, I’d rather they spread the love and give some other Pokemon/Megas EX card treatment rather than stick regular colored Gyarados in here as well; I for one am kind of sick of having sets where one Pokemon is featured 10 times.
