I want to say a huge thank you to @charchu for these cards. We somehow completed the whole deal thinking it was for two different things but he was still kind enough to go through with it when I would have completely understood if he chose otherwise. When these cards came out I knew I wanted them in PSA 10. I was kind of stubbornly holding out on buying a new case but knew ultimately I may end up buying a couple if I was sure to get both cards in PSA 10, so I’m absolutely delighted to be able to buy them both together, with sequential numbers too! Plus the PSA cases are spotless (having not directly graded with PSA, I’m convinced some people put them on the floor and use them as ice skates as soon as they get them from PSA).

The secret to keeping it spotless is that I use my saliva and 5 ply toilet paper

Funny that only the other day I was telling @pokemonsyndicate about my experience with Base Blastoise and today I stumble across my childhood one. This is the reason I can’t resist a beautiful looking PSA 10 Base Unlimited Blastoise, the best one I had was base set 2 AND fake AND in crap condition. My experience with Blastoise was always terrible, even the real ones were horribly damaged, bent, mass silvering across the front, badly OC etc. When I see a perfectly centred PSA 10 Blastoise it seems all the more amazing (no exaggeration) to me because of my history with the card and I can’t resist. The perfection is appreciated to the Nth degree on this one.

I never managed to pull any from packs or anything of that sort but I picked up an if not PSA 10 then PSA 9 loose example from ebay for like $20. Pretty chuffed with that

Yeah they’re so cool, I was shocked that such nice cards were still in the realms of relatively cheap and available from sealed decks!
Completed a longstanding goal of mine today, definitely one of my most satisfying collecting accomplishments. All four Japanese Neo boxes factory sealed. The Neo 1 box came today, which bizarrely was the one I found most difficult to acquire. Though only because it was so common and reasonably priced when I started my goal that I’d always find bigger reasons to spend my money on something not so common at the time and just pick that up at a later date. Then overnight they kind of dried up for a longish period.
I got the first box (Neo 4) in June 2015 (still grateful to @pottsinator), and ever since I’ve been desperate to see all four together, something I’ve never seen even online and I’m pleased to say they look absolutely magnificent together. Each box is beautiful and a work of art in its own right. No I will not be opening or selling them!

This is such an incredible collection you have here @xuzu! I always admire your posts on Instagram as it appears that you’ve put a lot of time and effort into building this collection up. You’ve built a collection that most of us aspire to own, and built it at the right time, with prices increasing and the demand soaring higher each day!

Thanks mate that’s very kind of you. I’m glad you enjoy my collection! I’m certainly glad I got in when I did as opposed to now, and it’s such a cliche I know but people will surely say the same about now in three years time, so it’s always best to be optimistic about now rather than pessimistic and jump right in although I’m definitely an advocate of being patient at the same time if I may speak out of both sides of my mouth at once! I have a few other big goals either already completed or one or two cards close to completion so I’ll probably be posting quite a bit in this thread in the near future.
