Scan spam inbound! Really happy I decided to collect these. They’re an amazing relatively cheap alternative to expensive English counterparts, and they have the added benefit of being ‘the’ original card design, presumably designed to go hand-in-hand with the artworks. They also have a much more vibrant holo pattern, seen in all Japanese holo’s from the earliest sets which do a lot for certain cards that are a bit let down by the English versions (like Magneton, Mewtwo in my opinion). I did my best, as always with my PSA 10s to ensure they all have nice front centering and I’m really pleased with the cards I’ve managed to get. Many PSA 10s in this set look quite OC to the naked eye, particularly Blastoise so it’s even more rewarding to find well centered ones after being patient.

Shhh don’t speaks of the Japanese pretties. I have obtained two of them and don’t want people to acknowledge their existence until I’ve got them all.

Okay… another big milestone has been reached. I have a lot to say about these but I’ll keep it brief and save it for another time. My only regret is that I wasn’t/wont be able to have a full set in the silver holo PSA case. I’m not huge on the new PSA case at all and much prefer the previous one. But anyway… I present to you my PSA 9-10 1st Edition Shadowless Base Holo set. It started in May 2015 with the purchase of a PSA 9 Charizard, which was then reviewed by PSA into a 10 and the rest is history. I was going for a full 10 set but after getting impatient I toned it down to include PSA 9’s as well.
Targets for this set:
- Upgrade remaining 9’s to 10’s.
- Potentially swap my thick stamp Raichu for a thin stamp
- Get a Machamp that has a more traditional yellow border (mine is quite orange in person)
- Get Ninetales & Magneton put into the new case

SHit artwork on the english base. but the japanese base looks really nice. Would look better if it was no rarity though 
Ya ment to put 1st ed, with the japanese equivelent… Scrub. Nah… thats unique to me only, your not aloud to.
Please do not send anymore of your 1st ed base holos in for recapsuling everytime psa live updates there cases always ill kill you.

Synderbs Charizard is in my favourite case and it’s fresh from PSA to my hands. It will never ever EVER be recased while I’m alive. Pay attentions or I’ll throw the things.
Unless… one day when I have all PSA 10s they come out with a super nice design, then I’ll have to get them all matching. Maybe all except the Charizard, keep that one special. Only if it matches with the rest though.

however yeah… Ide wait many yearbs before considering it as that alakazam has been through enough lol. but yeah if your keeping them for years there is definitely no point recasing each year unless it really does change to your liking or whatever. and even then… Its not aloud, because theres rules.
Oh man shut up shut up shut up. I recased my Zam into the good one then recased it again because the case had a weird mark on it but I was too late and it got put into that case. This was before I knew that you could clean scratches off psa cases. It was beautiful in that case with that old serial number 
I didn’t have hope until earlier though when I realised I can wait for another psa case that’s more pretty.

LOL… Brings back painful memories of when I tried to scratch scratches off my 1st ed psa 10 zard and i had to send it all the way back to america to be recased 
p.s - Can ize have charizard for 2015 psa 9 price? Its one of the main pieces im missing for my no rarity/1st ed shadowless holo collection. And yeah, i think it will be worth it on your end.

Neo Genesis, you da real Base Set 2! I probably have more nostalgia for the early Neo era than anything else. I collected since Base Set but I was very young at the time, by the time Neo came out I was old enough to be spending my own money and fully grasping the concept of it all. I’d frequently buy four 1st Edition Neo Genesis/Discovery packs at a time, plus I was obsessed with Pokemon Silver/Gold/Crystal so yeah, big love for the Johto Pokemon!
I really like how refined the Neo cards are, first seen in Neo Genesis obviously. You can tell all the lessons have been learned since the first Base, Jungle & Fossil etc cards. Again, the Japanese versions strike me as ‘the original’ here and they all look amazing. Standout cards for me are Feraligatr, Kingdra & Slowking…and Lugia and Typhlosion and Togetic and Steelix… ahem. I present my PSA 10 set of holo’s:

Do you have graded alternate starter evolutions from Neo 1 promo binder as well?

I do have the Feraligatr, I must have got it cheap somewhere or something because I’m not a big fan of them to be honest. I always preferred the ‘proper’ three from the English sets before I even knew the other three were originally Promos. I felt truly vindicated when I found out.

Next up: Neo Discovery! At the time of release I was so underwhelmed by this set. Neo Genesis had the starters and was effectively the ‘2nd base set’. Neo Revelation had the legendary dogs which I really like, and I left the game before Neo Destiny. Now though, you can make a good case that Neo Discovery has the best artwork of them all, right down to the pack and box artworks. Still need the Butterfree, will update the scan when I get it. Particularly like Raichu, Politoed, Umbreon, Espeon, Houndour & Beedrill. Beautiful beautiful cards.
