Who is your favorite pokemon and why?

I take it you don’t like Rhyperior

As for the jungle Rhydon, i remember pulling it back in the days being confused how the 100hp pokemon had the uncommon rarity

Hard choice, used to be Latios (kind of?) back in the day but I’ve felt like I’ve always had multiple favourites. Big fan of form changes and such, so going off that and actually enjoying gen 7 + ultra beasts it would be Dawn-Wings Necrozma / Lunala.

Very cool pokes in my opinion and for Lunala it’s a very nice aesthetic, unique and well designed. While DW-Necrozma is rather under appreciated and I like Pokemon like that, plus it’s still very cool imo!

They managed to make this horrendous mistake three times. Finally bumped up to a rare in legendary collection after Jungle and Base set 2, but not holo… :face_with_spiral_eyes:

I have little knowledge about the newer pokemon generations but i remember playing sword and shield (?) and finding necrozma among the most powerful in the game

Mewtwo.

Once I saw Pokemon: The First Movie in theaters as a kid, it was game over. I was obsessed with the origin story and everything else about it.

Gengar, Alakazam, Haunter, Houndoom and Ampharos are right there in the second tier.

Favorite Card (and my personal chase card in 1st Edition PSA 10):

Togetic.

Togetic has been my favorite pokemon for the past year or so. Quoting another time I have spoke about Togetic:

I far prefer it over Togepi and Togekiss. Togepi is definitely cute however Togetic still retains the cuteness factor and adds more (tiny wings, tiny limbs, wholesome smile). Something went wrong in the evolution to Togekiss.

Also, I love that it can use metronome, and that it is a normal/flying (technically fairy now) without looking like all the other normal/flying types.

I cannot pick a single favorite artwork as it changes time-to-time.

I don’t agree about Togekiss, I really like it though I think they could have done a better, less blimpy job with it. But I think agree about Togetic being the champion of the line. I’ve always been fascinated by it’s weird stats, unique form and movepool. I’ve tried to use it many times, too bad it just isn’t good enough for most things. Like my precious Dusclops, eviolite gave it some more options.

Blaziken! Because Blaziken is very good, look at him! A perfect boy!

The real reason I’m so connected to Blaziken is I used to play the TCG with my family during the DP/P era. I ran a Blaziken FB deck, and that deck is attached to so many fun memories at several Pokemon events. The deck lead me to winning 3rd Place at the Michigan State Champtionships! That was such a fun part of my life, and as a result, Blaziken means a ton to me! He’s also a really cool giant rooster thing with flames who can punch you, which is really good.

Blaziken FB is still my favorite card in the TCG

Interesting! I found Mew to be my favorite pokemon from that movie aswell!
it was a hard choice between mew and mewtwo but I found the mysterious nature of mew more appealing

Togetic was one of my favorite artworks in the neo genesis set

He is awesome for sure!

My boy, Blaziken.

There are 7 different breeds of Shamo Fighting Chickens, and they are all protected species in Japan. They are descendant from Fighting Chickens & Gamecock that were brought over from Malaysia & Thailand in the early 1600’s. Fun Fact: Cockfighting is still legal in some parts of Japan.

Yeah, I’m not a big fan of Togekiss’ head also being its body. Reminds me of how i used to draw people when I was little.

And sadly up until gen 4 Togetic was borderline useless in combat. I still try to use it every now and then, but yeah, its not too strong. It’s okay bc it makes up for it in cuteness.

Because of the impossibility to catch it outside of japan in Pokemon Gold/Silver, I’ve developed a sort of obsession for Celebi as a kid. To this day it’s still my favorite (forgive me Deoxys).
I was always fascinated by his ability to travel through time and am still in love with his description in Pokemon Silver: “When Celebi disappears deep in a forest, it is said to leave behind an egg it brought from the future.”
My favorite card of him must be Celebi ex play promo:

True, the Togekiss head body thing is weird.

It’s funny, the reason I love Togekiss so much is pretty much the opposite of why I love Togetic.

I’m a cleric spammer, always has been, always will be. That and my own version of the choice scarf+trick set, combined with god-tier viability in most gens and my tendency to spam flying types (and build teams around them) has resulted in me using Togekiss over and over to the point where I grew to love it.

Togetic? The reverse. Love the design, but the fact that it is 0,0001% viable makes it exciting/challenging to attempt to utilize it (with little success obviously, lol).

Ah fair enough. Yeah, its pretty solid! Especially dusk-mane Necrozma, much better than dawn-wings unfortunately. But, that’s due to typing with its ability and movepool being much better suited with the other version. Still glad you thought it was strong.

Showing all three elements in the background makes this the toughest card to me. Mew & Mewtwo were rad, but Lugia taking on all three birds at once blew my mind as a kid. Lugia’s eyes look aggressive in this card illustration which made it so much more intense.

Those were my true feelings, haha!
