That was so much fun… still going through the reverse holos which I won’t post but here are the EXs and gold stars. The top picture cards are literally pristine. No edge wear, glossy and fresher than pack fresh if that’s possible. The second picture cards are extremely strong 9s but each could be a 10 it just depends on the grader as they aren’t pristine like the first cards. The cards in the last picture are likely 9s, with the exception of the last 2 cards which are likely 8s. All have an extremely fresh feel it just seems like a few either came away from the factory with some corner whitening or maybe a nick or two from being bumped around inside the box they came in. The last picture shows how the cards originally came as master sets. The sets are Power Keepers, Hidden Legends and TMTA. This would be nuts if the sets were TRR, Deoxys, Holon Phantoms or something like that but I’ll take what I can get!
I’ve been able to find the sealed Moltres with Game Boy Color insert. Happy to finally have this one incoming after searching for it for about 2.5 years now. It will probably take a couple of months before I actually have it in my hands, since it has to come from the other side of the planet during the pandemic, but I’m already happy.
Now I just need to find two sealed Japanese Web Booster packs containing the Moltres, and then my Moltres WotC #21 promo collection will be complete. Here you can see the rest of the collection.
Wait… I’m so confused… So some TCG winners got master sets for winning things back then? How did I not know about this as I played in 06-07…
Anyways, probably an expected question coming from me but does this exist for ex Dragon Frontiers?
Did you end up with both the holo and reverse holo charizard in that power keepers box?? Not sure how master sets work when reverses are involved. The reverse zard of that set in a psa 10 is more expensive than the holo and much harder to grade.
Purchased 144 burning shadow boosters from dacardworld and pulled a Rainbow Zard today! Woo. Looks slightly off center , but still very happy… could still possibly get a 10
I’m not sure the prevalence of this. I used to buy these all the time in 2012 for Black & White era sets. They often had better production quality than booster box/pack fresh cards. I don’t know when the practice was started to give away boxes and complete sets.
Hey @Quuador, just curious, how do you find out if the sealed Web booster has the Moltres? The pack comes with the blue Web pamphlet facing down while the other side facing the back of the Pokemon card. Is it possible to have a peek at the holo without opening the pack?
Some sellers show the holo card that’s in the pack like this (since that’s also the only way to check if it’s a 1st or unlimited edition pack):
But with the Pokémon Web packs you can actually see which holo card is in the pack based on the barcode on the blue insert card. All packs will have a code in the form of 4521329 0ABCD X. The 4521329 is always the same and means the product is a Pokémon Web booster pack. The X is a random digit that’s irrelevant. But the ABCD part of the code is important, and indicates which holofoil card it will contain:
So I’m on the lookout for both a 1st and unlimited edition Pokémon Web booster pack where this ABCD part is 1309, 1310, 1311, or 1312.
Note that we’re not 100% sure if these codes are correct in all cases, but it seems to be correct for all Pokémon Web booster packs that @melchior and @majomaal have seen thus far, whom are both aware of these codes. They first told me about it in this thread. Based on pictures of Pokémon Web booster packs I’ve seen since (while I was on the lookout for the Moltres), the theory thus far seems to hold true.
Got all four english artwork team rocket packs for $167 which I think is a good price. Not sure if Japanese people weigh packs like American’s tend to do, but either way, I’m pretty happy about it.
