Bought this sunfaded masaki Gengar from Japan. Actually got it because it looks just like shiny gengar which I thought was really cool. Not a big fan of color distortions because it is damage and it usually takes away from the card, but imo this is definitely a cool piece

Haven’t delved in the Neo era too much but I figured Lugia is a must have in my collection. Easily one of the cleanest 8s I’ve seen. Aside from a very feint print line, I can’t find any other issues with the card. Back appears perfect and the centering is also pretty good overall. Could be a 9 on a good day it seems. Price was a bargain compared to the 9s as well. Love it.
I try not to deviate from my Neo Destiny goal, but this card always held a special place in my heart. Decided to downsize and unload some of my ungraded cards then pick this up.
Actually feel like I got a decent deal for it, as well.
I’ve been planning on picking up a set of these for what feels like forever, and I finally managed to find them in an amazing condition for an equally amazing price. Lo and behold, the 5 beautiful rewards from the 1998-1999 Communication Evolution Campaign (aka the Masaki Promos):
Thematically these go together perfectly with a card I picked up a couple of years ago:
I never got why they included omastar in the campaign and that card if it didn’t need to be traded to evolve.
I’m overwhelmed with excitement every time I see these together like this.

I’m stupid and just realized all the mons in the card art (but Omastar) need to be traded to evolve. That makes so much more sense now…

Where/when was this originally released?
@davie they were distributed as carnival prizes in 2000. The company (Play-by-play) only had the license for that year I believe, so the big ones are pretty hard to come by these days
