Lapras. Being vicious and all for a change especially for a debut to contrast from anime at the time. Being a Viking ship pokémon, showing teeth and all.

It is so tough but I will go with Ditto! It was already such a neat Pokémon to me as a kid but the 3d rendering on this card made it that much cooler.

Whoa — TIL. I had always disliked the CGI cards, especially Gastly + Haunter + Gengar because the Sugimori Haunter from Fossil was always my number one. It never clicked that the three of them specifically were done in that treatment.

I like imagining that CGI was the more unusual and ephemeral idea at the time, to pair with the ghost Pokemon.
