I preordered this last year but it finally came! Unfortunately don’t really have time right now to build it but I’m happy to just have it in the house. Always wanted one of the originals!

Yeah they’ve been making them for quite a while now! Kotobukiya has been making HMM model kits for at least 10+ years, they’re more similar to Gundam model kits. They recently did these motorized ones as a throwback for the 40th anniversary I think?

4 year old me would be throwing up right now. But I’ve matured, and this is pretty cool now.

The poor discord people had to put up with me and I’m now bringing this to the forum…

All the manga I’ve bought in January and (most of) February! I’m also adding some pics of cover art I really like.

Some nice cover art

Go ahead, point and laugh :eye: :eye:

I really enjoy it! I think it handles some LGBTQ+ topics better than other manga (it is a yuri manga) and it seems like a pretty basic manga until you reach the scene that the series is known for and then it really starts to develop.

I read fan translations so I’m far ahead what is officially available in English but I’m quite happy with picking it up and I’m still going to buy physical copies (mostly to support the series and because I hate being in front of a screen all the time). The manga does have some story lines and scenes exclusive to it, and also handles some scenes better than the anime and light novels, but the light novels are finished if you decide to skip the manga.

OKAY

The one not pictured is NSFW but it’s genuinely good, even if you cut out the NSFW scenes the characters are likeable and the story is quite funny and simple to follow. I just can’t show pictures of the covers or spines :skull_and_crossbones:

I don’t really do NSFW stuff like that, but are the others SFW?

It was a huge bummer to come downstairs and see him gone. Its wild that he was as old as my oldest kid. My son named them Ed and Al from FMA.

Yotsuba is the safest SFW piece out there. Literally about a 5 year old girl just living her life while hanging out with her dad or her neighbors. It’s also utterly hilarious at times as the comedic timing is so well done and the art adds to the hilarity.

Frieren has depictions of violence but they’re not over the top and they’re usually reserved to a few panels. It’s about a journey a party of adventurers take while also encountering some challenges and the main character does a lot of reflection on her past. Excellent read.

Smoking Behind the Supermarket is a great slow burn romcom between two adults, it’s a relatively new series but totally SFW. Guy smokes behind the supermarket with a girl who is actually his favorite cashier at the supermarket but because she dresses so differently off work he can’t tell the difference.

Love Bullet, besides all the guns and stuff, it’s completely SFW. It’s basically “cupid but instead of a bow and arrow, grenades and guns” and is a good read. You’ll have to read the fan translation online, but I highly recommend it as a good “I want to laugh but I also want my heart broken” story. Not many chapters because it is still pretty new.

Urusei Yatsura and IILWTV have mild nudity and can be suggestive at times. I like both for their comedy and IILWTV has a good enough story to grip me. You won’t see me reading IILWTV in public but it’s more because it’s obviously gay and not because of the content.

Very nice manga haul overall!

I love this manga as well. Do you prefer Tayama or Yamada? I’m all about Tayama but I definitely love the feel-good atmosphere this manga exudes. I’m currently reading “Blue Period (ブルーピリオド)” for much the same reason, really.
