It’s been a while since I played such a fun blend of side-scrolling and JRPG. If I could describe it, it’s like playing Castlevania SoTN in a more high-fantasy world/setting. I feel there’s a considerable amount of replay value here and the game is LONG. The story is also pretty cool, it’s got some time travel/interwoven worlds thing (i.e. Steins;Gate, Madoka, etc). Combat is super fun and feels like the developer put in some real effort to refining it and there’s a huge variety of enemies as well. All the weapons/shields feel unique and have ‘weight’ to them and the character movement feels good with lots of abilities to use. Anyway, apparently they spent 15 years on it and it definitely shows. Already got 20 hours in and seems like most are getting 100+ hours out of it, so it was easily worth the $20 or so I paid so far
Due to the sheer magnitude of how many times MTG comes out with new sets, every few years I make some alterations. I took the liberty of making some updates to a deck I call “Mr Sandman” which has a Dream theme. Just bought myself a replacement for my plain old Ponder for this special art from Secret Lair:
Whoa I’ve never seen that card before, it looks so cool!
As for my most recent non-pokemon purchase, I ended up winning one of the last Not For Resale N64 carts I need for my collection! Yoshi’s Story International is one of the rarer NFR carts. Here is an old website that lists and ranks all of the NFR carts per their rarity. Ironically the last one I need is the more common Gold Majoras Mask. Also this is my first cgc purchase, but I will end up cracking it out as none of my other games are graded. I like the protection but grading every cart would make it impossible to display everything.
That’s cool! N64 stuff can get really expensive, I’m chasing a Pokémon stadium battle set and they go so much. What’s the origin of not for resale carts? Are they like blockbuster/gamestore demos?
@canalavecollectibles Its something I really should do, but I want to play most of the games to get a feel for everything. Also it would be cool to have gameplay edited in as well when showing each game!
@livindavido They are demos of upcoming releases, typically main stage games. Some contain beta content, most were used in stores like blockbuster to demo the game. I love the history and organic rarity; the idea of kiosk demos is a vestige of the past.
Do you own any of the actual demo kiosks? I remember some of the demo kiosks in Blockbuster/Gamestop being actual landscapes in the game with the controller coming out of it.
A local flea market had a kiosk like this up for sale up until recently.
Continuing my trend of home improvement stuff, i bought a new light switch & cover so i know how to do that for the time i’m eventually planning on remodeling my kitchen.
Enjoy, it’s an awesome little device! PSA in case you missed it, be careful not to use sleep mode or save states with Pokémon cartridges, it’s notorious for wiping save files on those games in particular.
I didn’t realize that you could use save states with just the analouge pocket, that’s sweet. I thought you could only use them if you had an everdrive.
More of a feason to put new batteries in my GBC pokemon games lol.
