One of my main other collections besides Pokemon are old Nintendo consoles and games, mainly from the Game Boy Era. I recently picked up a small lot locally really cheap. It was a small risk as apart from one game all the labels were off. I could identify Pokemon Silver (which works fortunately) from the picture and took the risk. One of the labelless GBA games is Final Fantasy I & II. The other 3 games do not work unfortunately, but I will clean them properly in the coming days and hopefully bring them back to life. But even if they don’t work, I paid 13€ for the lot so it won’t really bother me.
Although I do not collect PS games, nostalgia hit me hard and I could not say no to pick up two of my favorite games from my childhood. Hopefully during my Christmas holidays I will find the time to play through them.
Power strips or surge protectors? I always forget that they are consumables and should be replaced fairly often (relative to how often they actually are replaced).
edit: i’ve also learned tons of them on amazon and even in stores are just total trash. the key is to find one that passes certification by a NRTL (nationally recognized testing lab). most are certified via Underwriter’s Laboratories, but there are a few others that meet the same standard (Anker uses a different lab, APC uses another, etc). seems that OSHA provides the cert capabilities.
things i never thought i’d need to care about but here we are. lol
A set of 4 snow tires for my Prius. Game changer! Just drove them for the first time in moderate snow yesterday and its one of those things in life that is like yup I’ve never going back.
You should def switch to all season (or summer) tires during warmer temps. Don’t want to derail the convo but different tires perform better at different temps / treads
*I also need winter tires but mercari wont stop with their 20% discount lol
I got a thermal optic that was on some deep clearance, only $130 shipped. That’s a good price for the FLIR sensor alone, which I could salvage in the future to turn it into a thermal camera.
Second picture shows my infrared signature reflecting off my stainless steel fridge, while the steel doesn’t reflect a clear image in the visible spectrum. I think that’s pretty neat.
