Came here to post this.
@goonhoon , Great taste! I remember seeing this card a few months back and my jaw drooped. Kingdra has some really amazing cards.
The moment I saw the Illusionās Zoroark CoroCoro Ichibani promo, I bought it no hesitation. It has all of my favorite legendary PokĆ©mon on it (Gen 2 best gen ever ^ā¢^) with a unique cute hand-drawn artwork. 10/10 will always be one of my favorite artworks

I will be posting my gym collection soon here in my own collection thread, because I have arranged it uniquely by each trainer and their corresponding DREAM TEAM!!! It is my most joyous binder arrangement. Iāll tag you in that when I do it. For now I am trying to get a few various holos that are nice and cheap, all WOTC. But my real goals right now that are harder are a PSA 7 Base 1st Ed Hitmonchan, Poliwrath, and Blastoise. I have 7ās of the rest, but expect to get a few more on my next PSA return, but I doubt the aforementioned submissions will be 7ās. In fact it would be a miracle for the Hitmonchan. Mint card, but has a slight indent on the front text area. Heartbreaker I tell ya.
Stay tuned for my gym post. I think everyone will get a kick out of it. Particularly those who combine the original game and early show sensibilities into their unique collecting layout! It is just binder pages, but I order them in a very pleasing way ![]()
@brendantheclayboy, sounds good! Iām excited to see it ![]()
For sure! And I forgot to mention it in my post, but Iām the guy who has to acknowledge great avatars. And yours is one of them. One of the best films ever made. Long live the great Miyazaki!

Team Rocket Returns! I think Iām about to collect the whole set. First time collecting something outside of WOTC. The artwork on every card is fire imo.
Not exactly the same reason, but I was super excited when I heard about Ross Cawthons āThe Truthā deck. Bought the deck as soon as it hit stores and started buying packs again after.
He bought a couple cards from me last year, was cool to mention that ![]()
My favorite also for 2020 so far. Loved last years Shibuya graffiti. In 2018 it was all about Munch Retrospective.
Iām gonna cheat and post two.
First up, I only got back into collecting to finish my Base, Jungle, and Fossil sets. Went to a card shop and ended up buying a raw copy of this Mew. This card got me interested in stuff outside the original 3 sets.

Second, this Lapras sparked my interest in Japanese exclusive sets and artwork.

^ If weāre cheating Iāll post 2 as well ![]()
Donāt laugh but Base Set Ponyta wins 2nd place for me as it was the first ever Pokemon card I ever saw in '99 and what pulled me into the hobby. Itās not so much the art, more of the āwow what is this?ā factor and the excited curiosity it inspired. Itās also the card that one of my āfriendsā tried to trade me a Japanese copy of for my freshly-pulled Zapdos holo, claiming it was a thuper rare error card.

1st Place goes to Base Set Ninetales - the first holo I ever got my grubby little 8-year-old hands on, and I remember going to the Toys R Us with my dad to pick up the Brushfire Theme Deck as though it was yesterday. Iāve never had the same feeling of excitement and inclusion in a hobby than when I took this card out of its plastic wrapping and looked at it. Itās not my favourite-ever card but nothing else has since given me that same feeling.

But its also the artā¦
Iām so glad to read this story. Really warms me up inside. Ponyta was mine too. I explode with nostalgia and memory of my first exposure to pokemon at the sight of its glory. But I also think it is one of the best artworks ever done. I mean look at that juxtaposition of color and the dynamic of complementary colors at work there! And Sugimori doing what he does best⦠If anyone laughs Iāll beat them up for you!

Threads such as this one gets me excited about the art yall sharing.
THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE

100% agree. Currently finding myself straying into EX and HGSS territory. Some awesome cards.
She is so sparkly ![]()
Any time I discover a card with Pichu in its artwork which I didnāt know about. Thatās a wonderful feeling.
The last time that happened was very shortly after I posted my Up to $20 bounty to find Pichu in non-Pichu card artwork thread: @muk found the silhouette of Pichu in the 2010 Team Rocketās Trickery card:
I guess this is as good of an opportunity as ever to shamelessly plug my blog. I have a blog post called PokĆ©mon Cards Featuring Pichu which documents the 11 different artworks Iām currently aware of which include a Pichu (with pretty pictures) and even includes a couple of close misses where Pichu should have appeared but ended up being omitted. The bounty still applies as well if anyone wants to do some Pichu spotting.
