I´m hoping to complete the Scarlet & Violet sealed. I already completed the Sword & Shield and am close to completing the Sun & Moon, although this is less of a priority since some of the earlier sets in this block are higher in price than I am comfortable paying.

I did fully accomplish my 2024 goal of finishing off my old side collections that had mostly been started several years ago, some even near the time i started collecting again as an adult. They were all over the place and took a decent chunk of my time for collecting. A year ago when i set the goal to finish them i had an idea to abandon new side collections and concentrate on my slime army. However i did enjoy them and even though they were time consuming i enjoyed every mail day of getting new cards for them during last year, and it no longer felt like an enjoyable idea to abandon all the side collections. But i did want them to be easier to manage. So here i am starting some new side collections and i’m glad i’m so excited about them, i’m in no rush with them and i’m intending to slowly accomplish them during the next few years. That also means that i don’t have any clear goals for the next year, slime army is naturally my main collection i want to add to but the adding pace is very much not in my hands so it’s quite impossible to form any reachable goals for it. I do have my top 5 most wanted cards and i hope for the next five years i would be able to pick up one card per year from it, but again not very reachable goal.
My other goal for 2024 was not that succesful. I was hoping to have the nursery rhymes book fully going but this year was rough, like really rough, so i didn’t have the mindset or energy to concentrate on it as much as i would have liked. I do have more rhymes and i have a message ready that i’m intending to send for the different publishers but i’m still uncertain about some rhymes and i would like to refine them before i’m in touch with potential publishers. But this is my one true goal for the next year, if i really want to get it done while my kids are still small it has to take bigger leaps. I’ve already reserved some days off from work for this project so full of energy or not, i have to get things done.
This was the most unsuccesful of my goals. I didn’t gain any weight but i didn’t lose any either, nor did i manage to go to gym again. Like said, last year was rough so i had zero actual possibilities going to gym and i’m not sure if next year is very promising about that either. But i’m quite comfortable with the weight i’m currently at and i’m sure the time will come where i have more time and energy to return to my gym routines so i’m not too stressed about it atm, just trying to maintain the current situation now.

I went quite hard this year, so I want to tone it down a little bit.
My goal is to get some Terastal festival booster boxes, as I haven’t managed to do so yet, maybe even open a box or two, since I’m quite excited for this set and I never opened a booster box before.
Apart from that, I will probably keep buying some japanese PSA 9-10 vintage holos (base, jungle), maybe even some 7-8 grades to crack for binder.
Also I will be moving early next year, so my goal is to go through everything I have (singles, graded cards, sealed items) and sell off everything that doesn’t spark joy (and makes sense financially).
Last year I wrote that I want to start selling stuff in 2024, which I managed to do - sold items for ~$5k, which is a small amount of money for a lot of people on this forum, but I’m very happy I actually went through with it and the final amount.

Really had to think long and hard since I did not have any goals for 2024 and I had an absolute blast as far as the hobby goes all thanks to E4. However, I would like to have some structure and a few goals to hopefully seeing how much of my checklist I can find success in.
- Start a XY-P promo binder. I have a few promo cards but not a dedicated binder and would like to start organizing the XY-P promo set in its own binder.
- Finish DP-P promo set. I am short by ~12 cards. I think barring the Pikachu 100/DP-P, the rest should be obtainable easily.
- Get the Rare Writer badge. I am 5 articles short and would really like to contribute more this year.
- Enjoy and participate E4 side events as much as possible. I think the side events have been a major highlight for me this year. I would like to carry on the same with 2025.

My goal is broad, and maybe not exactly a collecting goal directly. But I do want to be useful to the people here and anyone lurking who wants to learn something cool and new. So if I can enrich the knowledge base of pokemon cards, I would feel good about that.
But, that sort of cop out aside, I guess, if I can manage it, I just want to get as many weird variants as I can. Mostly english. The stories behind how different weird varaints were obtained is kind of a marvel. Sometimes just so innocuous, othertimes rather niche ways to obtain. Usually very modest cards you’d think were bulk.

actually I have a goal i’ll share. its been a slow build up. But you will see why!
I have been gathering sealed product to open on pokemon day 2026 which marks the 30th aniversarry of the pokemon series. In particular I want to try to get a booster box(or 36 loose packs for specialty sets, i’m even putting them in empty booster boxes) of every set since pokemon day 2021. I thought that would be a fun time. I do, as I say, have some other random things I will open too. Should be a good time! I hope this time they will have more cool stuff. 25th was pretty weak. Comapred to the 20th which was wild. I didn’t really buy any cards back then. But I was all over the videogame related stuff. shoulda bought all the 2ds colors from japan, but oh well. I do have the new 3ds, its my main console.

Ive kinda been away from Pokemon for like 6ish months. I got into Pokemon again in 2020, in my first year of university, and as of just a week ago, im officially going to be graduating university, im all done!! Being a student the last 4.5 years as you can imagine i have not had a ton of money, and ive been constantly in a difficult financial situation that has not allowed me to collect the way i want to. This will be my first year out of university in the hobby, so im hoping to be more consistent in my collecting efforts (within reason, im not balling out of control here lol). So i have some solid, manageable goals for the year i think.
- i want to rly start completing my binders. Ive started like 8 binders over the last few years and have not finished any of them. I have so many things i want to collect, but i have put a hard stop on starting any new binders until ive finished some of the ones i already started. Some of these include: vstar universe, vmax climax, 151, jp base-fossil, 25th anniversary (jp & eng), hidden fates.
- ive also inadvertently started a mew collection, so i wanna focus on that, specifically my two page spread of the mew ex 151 special art promo. I also wanna buy some various modern promos eng and JP bc theyre amazing.
- i want to grow my sealed collection with SV JP booster boxes such as 151, rocket, and the gym one.
- ive been wanting to buy a shadowless charizard for years now and its hit a price im happy with a while ago. I told myself over the year that if im able to graduate by the end of the year, id buy myself one as a graduation present. So ill be looking to pick one of those up some time this year.
- by the end of the year, if ive made adequate progress on these goals, i want to begin saving money toward a big prize card purchase. This card, along with another i purchased in the summer, has hit a low price due to a lot of them selling recently (as with a lot of these trophies and rarer cards). So now seems to be a good time to swoop in and buy.
These are pretty lofty goals for me and i imagine ill have to let go of a few things to make it happen, but im happy to do it bc i think this will grow my collection in a way that will make me happiest! Im hoping to keep my spending for the year below $10,000 CAD. Happy collecting in 2025 e4!!!

A rule I will add influenced by a post by @mrbubbles is that before buying a cards I must review my Japanese old back binder to make sure what I am about to purchase brings me joy. Trying to recapture that mindset I had in the beginning.

Main 2025 goal has been completed, won the Auction for the PSA 10 Unlimited Shining Gyarados yesterday on Fanatics. This started almost 2 years ago in Feb 2023 when I traded my PSA 8 Unlimited Charizard for a PSA 10 Unlimited Shining Steelix.
Going to start on my Team Rocket set, I have 4 that I graded from my collection, Dark Blastoise, Dark Charziard, Dark Dragonite, and Dark Raichu. Received purchased a Dark Weezing. Will go over the holos I have and see if any of them might get a 9, than start slowly purchasing the rest.
