Welcome @wannaplayduos ! It’s good to have goals and it sounds like you are making good progress. Looking forward to seeing you reach them.
Welcome @wannaplayduos! What game do you wanna play duos in?
Thank you for the welcome! Originally this name comes from an inside joke between friends where we would always ask each other if we wanted to play duos on Fortnite back then. Got fond memories of that time so now i’m just using wannaplayduos as my online name.
Thank you very much! I anticipate my progress to slowdown for the Akira Egawa collection as i’m starting to only really miss the expensive cards (3 golds from Crown Zenith, both SIR Charizards from Obsidian Flames and Paldean fates etc) but the S&V base set master shouldn’t be too bad to finish.
It would also appear i’ve deleted my introduction post by accident, getting used to the website’s layout I guess haha, but to remake it short for future people that might wonder : i’m a somewhat new collector working on a Scarlet and Violet base set master set and collecting one of each Akira Egawa card in English. Hopefully won’t delete this one as well
My original introduction post has been restored thanks to a kind moderator but I will keep this message up to avoid further confusion.
Welcome @wannaplayduos ! Glad you mentioned the deleted post. Thought I was losing touch.Egawa is a great artist to collect. You can check out other artist Collections in this thread.
E4 Artist Collections
Welcome @wannaplayduos! Egawa is a great artist! Do you have a favorite card they’ve done?
Thank you for the welcome and thank you for linking me to that thread! I’ll give it a look later.
First of all thank you for the welcome! And to answer your question it’s her illustration for the Zekrom full art in the Brilliant Stars trainer gallery. Not only is it a gorgeous artwork but Gen 5 is also my childhood generation (specifically the first Black and White games.)
I’ve restored it for you. And welcome!
I think non-mods can actually also restore their own deleted posts, but I’m not entirely sure, as I’m unable to test it.
Greetz,
Quuador
Thank you so much ! I did search for the option but if it exists I was unable to find it. Thank you for the welcome as well!
Welcome, @wannaplayduos !
Egawa has a great style! I also collect her cards. So many good illustrators today. I wish more TCG consumers appreciated the artwork instead of what it’s worth. I LOOOOVE that Zekrom too. Also one of my favorite Egawas.
I hope you have a great time here on the fourum, and find it a positive, and helpful place.
Hello and warm welcome to the forums @wannaplayduos. Super awesome to have you here and it is always lovely to see new collectors join in. It is also great to see you have a nice collection goal, since it is always hard as new collectors to zero in and define their goals. There is also a ton of reading material on E4 to keep you always engaged and get a lot more info about cards from different eras.
I wish you success in your journey and look forward to know more about you and also get updates on your recent additions if you choose to share.
Cheers!
Thank you for the welcome! I wish people would also appreciate the art more instead of the monetary value of a card but, it’s a double edged sword and this focus on the monetary value does make some gorgeous cards art wise very cheap to get because they’re not seen as “valuable” which is great for collecting on a budget. The people here have been very welcoming and kind so far!
It’s something that came up everywhere when I did my initial research into collecting cards : having a collection goal. And I agree with it, it helps being focused on what to buy and it makes the collection feel more personal instead of just collecting for the sake of collecting. I’ve already looked around a bit on the forum and some people have very impressive and niche collections which is awesome to see! Makes it feel very unique and personal to the person. Thank you for the warm welcome as well, I will definitely share more of my additions to my collections in the future!
Hi Im brandy.
im 30 years old
im from the USA.
I am a Paramedic/Firefighter by night and a pokemon collector by day and nursing student inbetween.
I have been collecting pokemon cards and playing the games since they first came out in 1999. i got out of it due to life happening but then my nephew asked me if i had ever heard of Pokemon last summer and when i found my very first binder i had started he asked if i would start recollecting with him so off course i didnt say no (he had puppy dog eye look as well lol)
i also recently got back into playing the games as well.
My favorite pokemon is Umbreon and Charmander.
One of my dreams/coals in the world of pokemon is completing the entire pokedex
Welcome @eeveejolteon ! Paramedic, firefighter, nurse; when do you have time to sleep? It’s great to see people come back to collecting after a break. It’s really cool that you are going to collect alongside your nephew. It would be great to see your collection so far. I bet there are some lovely old cards in there.
Hello @eeveejolteon very warm welcome to the forums, very good to have you here. It is awesome to see younger collectors like your nephew getting the older ones back into the hobby. I am sure collection with him will be an amazing experience for both of you. This is a great place to be with lots of information available to read and also lots of friendly people who can help you with your collection goals.
Just to get your started, you can use this amazing and informative article by @Quuador to get you started on all possible combinations.
You can also refer this and this threads as inspiration for others who are working on pokedex binders.
