Welcome @eeveejolteon . Great origin story. Welcome back and thanks for mentoring the next generation. If Umbreaon is your favorite what is the jolteon story since it’s in your user name? @mrbubbles has linked you to some great articlesI hope you enjoy the forum.
Welcome, Brandy @eeveejolteon ! It’s cute when our kids/nephews/students bring us back into the hobby, isn’t it?
Always nice to have a Gen Wunner here, and I’m sure you’ll find this a chill and enlightening place.
Jolteon for the electrical currents that run through the heart to make it work. I love all things that deal with cardiac (the heart).
other than charmander mew mewtwo ninetails and vulpix and Pikachu
Eevee and friends (the eevee evolutions are my all time faves)
it really is. its even cuter when puppy dog eyes are involved
Hi Vertskangaskhan here! I’m Vertemes mom. I have no ideal what I’m doing, but its a pleasure being part of this forum.
I can confirm this is my mom. She really has no idea what shes doing. Just loves me enough to join the forum.
Welcome to e4, @Vertskangaskhan! We are happy to have you (and your son) here. Without exaggeration, this is the best Pokemon forum out there.
Welcome to another Poke-mom! @Vertskangaskhan. I too am a Poke-mom and have been one for more than 2 decades! It’s a good gig. There are others here as well. Enjoy this fine group of Pokémon enthusiasts.
Thank you all for welcoming me to the forum.
Welcome @Vertskangaskhan! Glad you could join in the fun! I can confirm having a mom who is willing to share in Pokemon is so wonderful, so thanks for giving us a shot!
Welcome @Vertskangaskhan !
Thanks
Thank you
Welcome, @Vertskangaskhan ! Always glad to welcome new members, whether gen wunners (That’s what we call people who started with the first generation back in the 90s), or hobbyists who are still training their starter pokemon.
I’m sure you’ll find this forum a positive and informative place.
…and the most positive, informative, performative… epistemolative… Maybe not the last one.
Welcome @Vertskangaskhan. It is actually super awesome to have you join the forums. It is also cool to see you so actively be a part of Vert’s hobbies and this is the best place indeed to be if you want to know anything and all about Pokemon card collecting. I hope you have a great time and can learn some new stuff within the hobby.
Cheers!
As @mrbubbles kindly invited me to, I’ll introduce myself in this dedicated thread.
I am Sab, an almost 30yo from France.
I’ve been an active competitive player of the video game, and I’ve indulged in playing most of the games of the series, including spin-offs ones ; and beyond that tons of fangames as well, when I was a teenager and young adult.
I never would have thought I would ever find the slightest interest in the TCG hobby again. As a kid, my family was too poor for me to own anything more than a few english fake cards. I also had an absolutely destroyed Metagross Gold Star that I picked up on the ground, which I lost again. That was the highlight of my TCG collecting career.
During covid lockdowns, I spent most of my time learning Japanese. I recall watching a few box rips from youtubers, be it in Japanese or English, but the vibe didn’t suit me whatsoever. Chase cards -which wouldn’t be an issue, if other cards weren’t ignored), value-oriented. Needless to say, I wasn’t hooked.
It was until recently, where I read a Komiya art spotlight blog post, that I took interest once again, and I went into a buying spree - Collecting cards of artists I enjoy (Komiya - Kusube - Kusajima - Kanda…), from all periods.
I still feel like my scope of interest is too broad, and I need time to settle, but I can’t stop collecting cards. Vending Series, Carddass, AR, L-P Promos, PCG-P, Ex Era, even some Plasma and Tag Team cards… With the market being as volatile as it is, it’s hard to skip up on good deals. Perhaps as a collector it can be a learning curve. I’ll be living in Japan for a year in a few months, so I definitely have to get this self-control issue sorted out before
Anyway, if you need help with Japanese -or French for that matter, but I’ll wonder why though-, I’d be pleased to help!
Take care -
Welcome again and it is great to get your backstory.
Maybe you will find this interesting.
Cheers!
Welcome to the forum!
Welcome @heracross-pcp ! I enjoyed learning a little bit about your journey. Thank you for sharing. Is heracross a particular favorite? It does hold a special place for me, as it’s stature is just perfect!
Enjoy the forum
Thank you for the recommendation.
I’ve been playing mostly Gen 3 or Gen 4 but I’ll read the thread at the very least, it’s nice to see such events being hosted here !
@camrok37 Cheers !
@niece Thank you! It took me an embarassing amount of time to piece this presentation, so I am happy it doesn’t go unnoticed.
I’d say it’s among the very top of my favorites for sure! Its design is simply pristine, and perfectly balanced. I would group it among Breloom, Dusclops, maybe the Porygon and the Wailmer line, Shuckle? I’ll put Scyther among those, just to have a badass choice at hand.
Looking at Pokemon cards though, I’ll soon find my way loving Gengar, Squirtle and god forbid Eeveelutions given how my favorites are underrepresented
