Vivid Voltage Megathread

Yes I know it’s prerelease hype pricing, but even HR ReshiZard, BraixenZard and MewMew GX tag teams were a lot lower than this. New record for a modern set card that isn’t Charizard! :open_mouth:

Based on YouTube videos I’ve seen (1500+ packs opened), it looks like you’ll (very rough estimate, small sample size) average one CHONKACHU every two cases (12 booster boxes, 432 packs) :zap::zap:

Ugh, what the actual fuck. Still, i think we all saw this coming…

If ungraded Chock Pikachu is going for this much, I wonder what the shiny Chock will go for in the hidden fates like set for Sword and Shield

I wasn’t expecting it to be that hard to pull but a lot of stuff that SHOULD have been in Champion’s Path (Togekiss VMAX, Leon, etc) got pushed back to Vivid so it has a LOT of competition on the sheet with all the rainbows on it.

Hopefully will drop to around $150 for a week or so once everyone opens their cases next weekend.

Same here, i really doubt it will go under $100 like ever. Will pull the trigger once it is in the $150 ish range.

OMG completely forgot about a potential Pikachu VMAX from Shiny Star V!! I guess unlike Charizard, Umbreon (more popular HIF cards) etc, his colour palette change is minimal, so might not too crazy hopefully.

Does anyone know if the vivid voltage booster boxes on eBay are legit? If not, is there a recommended way to find these online from a trusted source?

I can’t speak for the listing(s) without a link but there are many legit sellers taking preorders for the boosters. Seller can’t officially sell the set until Friday

Don’t buy singles from a set that hasn’t officially released. Prices will certainly drop once more folks get their preorders and supply goes up.

Remember, the RR Charizard from Champion’s path was going for nearly $1000 before release and its come way down since then

I just got my first box in the mail today and I have to say some of the edge wear straight out the pack is funky! Also got a rainbow rare vmax Orbeetle with a dent in the middle like wtf hhaha

Edit: Got in touch with the Pokemon company and they offer to replace any cards sent to them which they deem damaged based on whether they would allow them to be used in official events. If they determine they can be used they will just send them back as is. They also said they include 1 extra booster pack per 4 USD of shipping costs.

200 packs in and no luck on the rainbow Pika, so I guess I’m gonna have to shell out and buy one :stuck_out_tongue: how long after a set drops do you usually see the lowest price for the chase card in a set?

If the card is not playable I would say 1-2 weeks after release.

I’d wait a good month or so

This, usually 1-2 months before prices settle a bit.

Hello every one.

I see the Release date is tomorrow for the Usa Market for Vivid Voltage. The release date for Australia is the 20/11/20 next Friday.

I see every card I was interested in buying on Troll and Toad has just jumped in cost, I’m taking about the $20 - $60 cards in value. Did I just miss the boat and waited to long to order?

Stay safe every one.

Never buy for prerelease prices. Just wait it out, it will drop eventually when all the orders have been shipped and opened.

Also, apparently the Pikachu is even rarer than the SV Charizard.

Your statement can be ambiguous, more “rare” as it requires more booster packs to pull it? Sure, but product is way easier to come by and buy in bulk compared to HIF. So it’s not really more “rare”.

haha, I knew someone would correct me on that. Should have gone with ‘pullrates are lower’. Thought it was obvious. Thank you for correcting.

1 Rainbow Rare Chonkychu per 5 cases is pretty rough
