So why are you confused that everyone is saying that this is not a surprise? Once the labels didn’t match up it was basically game over. “inb4 everyone says they knew all along” implies that everyone is on some knowledge bandwagon.

Most likely it’s this guy called “poke butler” on IG. He’s deactivated now but he was known for scamming many fake 1st Ed boxes/packs and getting away with it. I believe we have his full name and address now (or at least Rattle does).

This guy is so f**ked. Smaller fry than him have gotten nailed by the RCMP/local authorities for fraud over $5000, and there’s an insane amount of evidence (and I imagine more internet sleuths trying to nail his head to a board). He should’ve stuck to smaller scams to avoid detection. I don’t imagine prison will treat him well.

I have a bunch of cases of 03’/04’ Topps Chome Basketball I’m about to bring in to BBCE for authentication. The tape can’t be picked with the sharpest of fingernails and the you can see the cardboard through the label like nobodies business! Cha-Ching!

Personally, I would be incredibly embarrassed if I, the owner of an authentication company, insisted that a box that I reviewed twice was untampered with only to be disproven minutes later. On top of that, to have the entire incident recorded and posted on a popular Youtube channel? Maybe they’re more trustworthy with sport products or the indicators they use to verify products failed them this time?
@rattlebear should be the new owner of BBCE.

What seems so annoying to me is that this guy didn’t even seem to consider that the box was never tampered with, it was just an untampered with fake box.

I could be wrong but I think the only evidence that pokebutler is the case seller is that he has been proven to have repacked base boxes/packs before (so fuck him) and that he lives in the same province that the booster case was sold from.
Even though this guy has done awful stuff in the past it’s always good to be cautious when throwing out accusations of serious crimes. Just a reminder from someone that was around during the reddit Boston bomber fiasco.

So I guess gi joe packs weigh the same as base set 1st edition booster packs. I would have assumed you could have semi-accurately estimated the weight of 11 booster boxes in a cardboard box based on all the weight data out there.
Anyone else notice that when BBCE started talking he looked right @ Pokejew and said Me and MICHAEL are going to go over what we looked for the day it was brought in and speak back and forth about why we like the seal. Lol there was no back and forth in the video. Could have been edited out but it seemed he was really looking for him back him up. Nothing major just something that seemed strange.

I would love to know what was said behind the scenes, i.e., did LP call out BBCE? In the video, you could see he was very disappointed as he storms off into the other room. There’s no way he doesn’t feel the slightest of animosity toward the guy(s) that now plays a huge part of this mess.

BBCE owner prob didn’t watch rattle’s videos before agreeing to being videotaped at the box opening. They did the same amount of research and due diligence to appear on the video as they did with authenticating the box. They’re the real losers here. Can the owner and the company even recover from this scandal?
