Silver lining of this whole situation is just how much great information on early wotc cases has come out into the public eye.
I’m sure most this info was already known by the vets in this hobby but as a relative newbie I’ve learned a lot.

My landlord who knows absolutely nothing about pokemon just asked me this morning if I had heard about logan paul and his fake 3.5 millon dollar box. I was very shocked he knew anything about this but apparently some news channels are covering this story and already calling it fake.

Pokebeach and yahoo news, as well as dozens of others, did ZERO reporting. All they did was copy Mike or each other. At least they could have done one or two new investigation reveals. They are even quoting and crediting each other. Yahoo credited Pokebeach who did next to NOTHING (but at least mentioned Mike).One guy did all the work so he deserves all the credit. Pokebeach et all are the fakes.

Here on E4, Mike got all the credit including links to his YouTube channel and videos with him by some of us.
Finally, I’ve gotten two hundred messages about Logan’s reveal video. I noticed his hydration drink video with ksi is the number one trender. I know little about this stuff but wouldn’t it be counterproductive to knock out one of your own videos (especially one that’s bringing in substantial revenue) with another of your own videos?

I worked on the news story for 12+ hours; it was not an easy task to put it all together. Rattle kindly answered my questions all throughout and I also contacted those involved. Unfortunately news organizations aren’t going to watch 4+ hours of videos about this subject, which is why the article made it possible for the media to digest the story and see Rattle’s work. Many news outlets watch PokeBeach to get a “read” on the PTCG community because they know the site is almost 20 years old. Unfortunately many of the inferior ones did not credit Rattle but I made sure to contact some of them to tell them to fix their mistake, tweeted at them, etc. In the end his channel did get a big boost because of the media blitz and his videos are right there in the article even if they didn’t credit him. That’s what PokeBeach is for, to bring attention to what’s going on in our community. But sometimes it feels like “damned if you do, damned if you don’t.”

At least pb put a rattle link. It still would have been nice if anything new was dug up and reported instead of simply only copying and paste.

I do investigative reporting all the time, but in this situation Rattle did such an excellent job there wasn’t a need to dig further. It’s his story and he’s on top of it, so it would be crappy of me to step on his feet.
The only other important information the media will want to know is “Is it actually fake?” You know LP will make some kind of public display no matter what, which will finish up the story. The media may also want to know “Who faked it?,” which is ESPECIALLY important to find out for our community. But both those questions will have to wait until the conclusion.
