The PWCC Megathread

Hi, I am back from lurking and exiting the shadows to finally speak on the forum again. Interesting to see modern stonks and sun faded zords out weigh our expectations!

PWCC make errors. When I had my Neo Boxes up they labeled them all as not 1st edition boxes…Took some time but I eventually got through to them and made sure it was corrected…Scary situation lol.

This becomes even crazier when you see the pop report… 50 Black Labels were graded at the time of this sale.

https://www.beckett.com/grading/set_item_listing_grade?set_id=223790&price_item_id=20264133&item_attr_id=0&final_grade=b10&limit=500

Can’t wait to see the other 49 pop up for $20,000 BIN on eBay.

PWCC is the premier auction house for Pokemon. You are guaranteed a premium when you sell with them. Here are some of their last sold for prices.

yikes mysterious mountain PSA 10’s for an average of 10$ probably doesn’t even cover the grading cost

lol it’s just a bug on their site that shows bids on the next weekly auction as sold for prices instead

lol that explains it I was like what’s happening the one week I didn’t keep an eye on PWCC auctions. I felt that PWCC has been flooding the market recently since my weekly search that usually returns 300ish items now is returning 700ish so I believed those numbers for a second.

@petiparty

Seems unfair to potential buyers to not have the note added to the Fixed Price Marketplace (left) coming from the Weekly Sunday Auction #59 (right).

Edit; pictures are too small to see cert:

Saw this in a recent PWCC ad email. Their website also mentions that extended bidding is open to everyone now, not just the February timeframe.

Why have normal bidding then? Just start the auctions at 10pm est on Sunday.

I don’t know why people are upset about the change of being able to bid on items in extended bidding without placing a prior bid. The only difference is now more people can bid. Limiting the buyer pool with a prereq doesn’t really make sense for most items in the weekly auction. Most auctions on Yahoo are the same and I’m surprised eBay hasn’t experimented with it recently. It’s typically the best way to get the highest price for an item.

Which, as a buyer, is a big difference :upside_down_face:

But obviously as a seller that’s a net positive

I saw this scrolling through last week and was wondering when you would post it :grimacing:

At least it’s not at an absurd price…yet.

The seller messed up by not getting the Authentic label, now we know it’s not mint :chart_with_downwards_trend:

I usually bid on Thursdays with my max then check back the following Monday. It prevents FOMO so for some bidding styles it’s nice to see cards a few days early. As a buyer I don’t like the change but only because more competition :face_with_monocle:

I have the feeling so many things I bid on now end with just one bid step higher because people who actually live in that timezone have the time to do so.
As a seller it is good news though, in theory higher bids.
