The PWCC Megathread

Just shows there pretty incompetent. Sounds like the people making decisions there should be replaced. Tamper sealing boxes with access to slipping out the packs. Taking packs off screen and not even reading labels for labelinf things like the goldstar request.

Do you use PWCC to sell often? I’d just stop giving them your business after this auction and explain why. Maybe that will help them to change.

They’ve corrected their mistake and added gold star to the listing title. Thanks for your help @petiparty !

I’m no longer doing review on the auctions due to my other responsibilities, so apologies for stuff like this slipping through. There will be a new person hired to handle all this sort of stuff in the next few weeks, so in the meantime if any of you need any edits like this just dm me on Instagram and I will handle it, as I only check here 2-3 times a week now with everything going on.

For premier auctions it is 20 days (at least this is what I have seen)

Imagine paying over $7,200 for a Moonbreon. :face_vomiting:

If I ever bid $7K on a black label modern set card, take me out behind the barn… :smiling_face_with_tear:

Beckett black labels, scamming idiots since 2001

I think these 2 pics - both from tonight’s auction sum up just how utterly insane it is. Just wait 5-10 years and see where these two end up…

12k for a modern, still relatively pullable card, is disgusting.

Umbreon is one of my absolute favorite pokemon too, but come on.

It’s all about status and flexing money at that point. :upside_down_face:

Hidden Fates SV49 BGS Black Label peaked at $10k, dropped to $6k, and has consolidated around $3k. Thing is, this card, and Hidden Fates in general, brought a lot of people back into the hobby. It’s easy to project the same pricing to Moonbreon (assuming this sale goes through) and expect a drop once enough time passes and a new card takes over.

What matters, imo, is that these high prices make the hobby attractive and pull people in. It’s necessary to have that race car card that anyone can pull and anyone can grade a perfect score. Maybe the card is too expensive, but the amount of money being put into our hobby signifies growth, which is what we want in the long run.

I dunno, i think Dyl has it right and its just flexing. You dont have any NEW money being thrown into $10k modern graded cards. Everyone just wants that label.

I think people underestimate the number of people who have joined the hobby and what their interests are. Not all of them will stay and yet there are many who have now been exposed as kids-teenagers who have a chance of wanting these cards when they are older.

People are too used to low pop. cards because that’s what they were chasing and what they knew as kids. I don’t know whether these modern chase slabs are going to be under or over valued in the long run but I wouldn’t be surprised if there is more demand than this forum gives modern credit for.

I agree. Good point.

Final update:

PSA’s stance on the topic is that because they cannot prove “intent” (i.e., that someone purposefully bleached their card), it will not be designated as Authentic Altered. In the future, if they can prove intent like with other alterations (e.g., clipping, coloration, etc.), they will adjust their decision.

Just curious, can’t people sun bleach the card after it has been encased in a slab? I wonder if the plastic material will show signs of wear if it’s exposed to sunlight like that though
