The PWCC Megathread

That’s true, should have been more clear in my message. But also I’m pretty sure no one in the history of the world has reported their non-1099 sales lol

And to further expand on this, you’re supposed to pay tax on profits regardless if you withdraw your funds from PWCC or not. Keeping your auction sales money in there does not provide any tax haven or shelter when it comes to 1099s.

A few current deals I’m seeing just scanning through the auction that ends in a couple hours for anyone interested in a new pick up! Not sure what maximum bids have already been set, but in no particular order:

  1. Psyduck Munch/Scream Promo PSA 10, currently at $370 highest bid (been selling around $800+ recently): https://www.pwccmarketplace.com/items/3444122/2018-pokemon-japanese-sm-promo-munch-a-retrospective-scream-psyduck-286-psa-10

And yes, I like Japanese cards in case you were curious. Happy hunting!

All the cards I “won” last auction actually went higher this block, but I suppose many cards did the opposite as well.

You can now finally search both fixed price and auctions at PWCC!
The top search bar searches in both and you have saved searches.
As far as I can tell you can’t filter those results yet but I like the improvements.

Quick question, is the sold data on PWCC auctions including the buyers premium or should that be added to calculate the final sold price?

It’s added already

Do they put stickers on all the slabs that go through PWCC? I understand why, but I’m a bit Type A about my cards and the idea of this sticker/ sticker residue on all my cards is causing me pain lmao

They put labels on all their slabs. I’ve peeled them off and still see the rectangle redisue.
Luckily all slabs I got from PWCC are immediately cracked out.
I also noticed the slabs are usually scratched more than most people would be ok with. Seems like they handle them roughly.

They sure don’t use white gloves. This one was especially painful.

Shucks, perfect one to crack for my binder

I remeber most of the PWCC negative feedback on their ebay page was scratched, chipped, and cracked slabs. Scans don’t typically show these defects either. Idk, maybe they should use the perfect fit sleeves over them?

Goo Gone takes off the sticker residue in a pinch, nothing to worry about or prevent you from buying/bidding there.

Definitely nothing that would prevent me from buying there, just something to consider!

Ive heard some say that you can directly send to PSA for a re-encapsulation from the vault, so that may be an option for people concerned with pwcc bodying our plastic lol

For those that prefer to stay away from chemicals, I find that coconut oil works just as well, and has a nice smell lol

This solves most residue and case scratches:

If you’re using goo gone just be sure not to be over zealous as (as I found out) it can get into the cracks of your slabs and really destroy the frosting effect and warp the label. My first attempt at removing a label like this ended with a nearly ruined base nidoking 9

I’ve always just sprayed it straight into a cotton ball or wad of TP, then rubbed the slab. Never applied it straight into the plastic as yea I could see that getting messy.

Agree with others. Goo Gone and PlastX are your best friends. They will give you a brand new slab!

At least it’s not a valuable card! :upside_down_face:
