I like it, looks cool.

I hate this nonsensical naming convention. What does the V stand for?

Looks cool, but another rarity? Great.

I wonder how soon they’re going to be releasing the regionals from Legends: Arceus. Makes sense this is going to be a setup

5ban here delivering another banger

Gameplay wise, it’s not the most creative mechanic, but It might add a fun layer to deckbuilding. Also, the ability on that Arceus is insane!

From a collectors perspective there’s really nothing novel or interesting here outside of a white border. Just looks like another way to fit a charizord into a new set

I hope they use this as a way to add some different pokemon to the ultra rare slot, but like @pkmnflyingmaster , said its probably going to just be the popular pokemon like charizard. I really enjoyed how they chose some more obscure pokemon for the alternate arts like medicham and golurk, would be cool to see some nice ultra rares for some of my favorites.

I don’t think this is a good direction for Pokémon to continue in. The Tag Team GX attacks (most of all Altered Creation, Horror House) led to a stale format and this will likely follow suit, with games being quickly finished within a few turns due to the power and acceleration of V-star abilities. Horror House in particular was absurd right before rotation… If you started with a single basic, could easily lose the game Turn 2.

I hope these will be more balanced but with Arceus alone I have concerns. It will be super easy to create a deck that can OHKO any V with a generic Fusion Strike attacker, or knock-out two Sobble or other low HP basic with Starmie. With Arceus you can grab two Fusion Power Tablets to have your first attack of the game do +60 damage, or set up Starmie / Frosmoth to hit two Pokémon for 60 each. Heck you can Peony for 4 tablets and do +120.

Decks that burn through their entire resources for Turn 2 wins are not good for the game. It’s exciting seeing just how much you can accomplish and I enjoyed ZPS but it is too sad watching your opponent die inside as they basically don’t get a chance to play the game.

The cards don’t look bad, I get lv.x vibes heavy from it. We could be in this limbo where some mediocre cards are being revealed(this) alongside some awesome cards such as alt arts. As far as playability goes i agree with qwachansey, it doesn’t seem well thought out at all and could lead to some really stale games.

Arceus Ability: “how to speed run a match”

I instantly thought of Lv. x cards as well. I love the design of Arceus. I’m not a player really, so I can’t really comment on the other stuff.

Thankfully that doesn’t happen at all in the current standard format. Now expanded is a different beast

Sounds unlikely but any chance they might be phasing out rainbows for V Stars? Gotten the feeling they’ve been prioritizing alt arts over rainbows recently. Really don’t want another rarity to try to collect so maybe just wishful thinking

Right. Good point. I can’t speak for the competitive scene, but if they’re gonna be adding these in as a new chase, something should be taken out.

As far as looks, it’s a very pretty card.

I agree, my first thought was removing rainbows as well, it’s about time those leave. Honestly though I feel like they don’t need a replacement.

But the white border is nice.

It’s replacing VMAX most likely since the set number shows it’s right after the V not a secret rare or anything.

Don’t like how 5ban Graphics gets even more cards though. Saves me buying them I suppose.

What do they even see in his work? Most of the art is really terrible.

And PLANETA hasn’t been much better.
