Submitted some Spanish cards for a friend.

PSA 9 Gyarados ex Secret Breakpoint #123 (POP 5, 1 PSA 10)

PSA 10 Mewtwo ex Secret Breakthrough #164 (POP 1)

PSA 10 Umbreon GX #142 Sun & Moon Base (POP 3)

Fantastic results on these mid-era cards. Didn’t expect them at all. The rest of the sub went well, but it’s all modern, so this is definitely the highlight. This is the only other card worth mentioning is an Yveltal EX from XY base.

Sent in Value Max
Munch promo was originally a “newer” cert graded at PSA Japan PSA 7.
The Stamp box promo, I opened myself from the bag.

Was hopeful the Munch would get a 8 and the Stamp IMO is a 10.

its hard to see problems in these scans

a psa5 in particular would require something major. Are there hidden indents/creases that you noticed? I do see some white surface issues, particularly a rather large one on the pokeball but the the overall grade seems harsh

I just received my PSA “First look” images that I requested…check this out

This is the image zoomed in from my slab…the part that you saw:

Top image is the scan image from the PSA slab…with what looks to be a scratch
Bottom image is the scan from “first image” getting to PSA provided by them

That’s frustrating. Will have to see if it’s a dirt spec or actual damage once you get it

It blows my mind how PSA (and I’m sure other grading companies but I’ve only used PSA) can cause whitening or damage to cards after receiving. Are they taken out of sleeves and processed without them?

And the PSA scanner is so scratched up, they don’t give you an accurate picture of the condition of the card

Nothing beats the rush of buying a raw card and getting a good grade  Bought this one on TCGPlayer with a few pics, it looked so clean and only looked better in person.

Shout out whoever made that thread about COL that made me look some of these cards up and eventually find this one!

Just got my grades back from an August bulk sub — modern stuff did great but I definitely got humbled on these two vintage cards :smiling_face_with_tear:. Both looked super clean to me with no indents or major flaws. The Suicune has a tiny red speck below the Pokeball (looks like a factory print defect). Perhaps PSA’s being extra picky about these things nowadays?

Another case of PSA hammering non-modern

I’d give the Suicune a look over to see if there’s any sort of denting or creasing you missed since that’s usually what a clean 6 implies, but you should absolutely resub that Dustox lol

Grades are in!

I’m slightly miffed by the Charizard, it looks really clean and I thought it would get a 9 just based on centering, but it’s a really good looking 8! I pulled this from a pack maybe a year or so ago, so use this post as an example that it’s a decent guess to assume a pack fresh WOTC holo on average earns a PSA 8

The Art Academy cards I have had for a while and finally decided to get them graded. Ultimately I don’t really care what the grades are as they both came from winners and I don’t intend to ever sell these, so I am happy with what they got! Glad these finally got encapsulated and added to the pop!

Congrats! The 8 looks to be solid based on the centering and the minor whitening on the back. Harder and harder to get 9s on vintage English nowadays it feels like
