Maybe we had the same grader. Or maybe they changed their grading scale.

Got a small CGC sub today. Overall I’d say grades are what I’d expect, maybe .5 lower than expected/hoped for. Charizard I had really hoped for 8.5, surface is fantastic scans look worse than it is

Blastoise was bgs 8.5
Charizard was bgs 8
Venusuar was raw

If someone wants to sell me a CGC 9 zard please dm me! I’ll pay above last solds

SGC added about $60 value to this card. may not sound like much. But x that by 100’s slabs a week. It adds up

Anyone collect Pokekyun ? Love this set

You are 1000% correct that with volume that is a major win every time (and congrats). The real question is why are people paying $60 for non masterball reverse holos and should I be looking through my 151 binder right now

One reason , the masterball is getting to expensive to collect or make a set right now. So many collectors moved to reverse holo. Actually the error reverse holo is more rare than the masterball, if you know you know.

The masses are in lower end collecting, the market is HUGE in the under $100 market. Like packs, the glamor is opening vintage $500 - $2000 packs, but the $4 packs out sell the vintage packs by 1000000x. .

*just sold a reverse holo for $70+ . yesterday. (SGC slab, Too)

We have sold over 500 masterball raw and slabbed. The ship has sailed.
Looks nice to post a price, but moves slow.

So you’re saying I should hold onto all my PSA 10 Master Ball holos as the price is only going up from here??? I’ve been seeing the price dip as more supply hits, not the prices climbing.

Everyday with every announcement from suppliers, grading companies , economy and world events the situation changes.

Like any investment . The situation changes daily.

I cannot tell the future. (i just got back from japan, Yes ,the supply of master ball is much more than in the past months. but the USA market lags in adjustment. )

Got some Autos back today.

Really happy PSA decided to grade the JR Orange card! The One Piece Carddass Hyper Battle have got to be my favorites.

Is PSA still damaging the back top right corners of their cards?

Allegedly not but we don’t know since they never acknowledged it in the first place despite ample evidence lol

just wondering if its just a speck of dust on the slab or if there is a tiny white spot on the eevee taiwan reverse holo card.

some of my jp cards might have a tiny dot of white on the reverse holo, but was never sure how much of an impact something like that might have on grading.

i think almost all grading done by companies are done with some automated scanning technology with pretty much little to no human verification for nearly all bulk submissions. i assume there is more human oversight for super high valuable/rare cards though.

but if my assumptions are correct, the accuracy regarding assessing surface imperfections is far from perfect/consistent/reliable (with the exception of centering) esp with noticing surface errors. so maybe ill just submit and see what the results are. i think automation is also why there are some really weird and inaccurate grading returns (grades are sometimes much higher or lower than expected in reasons that make no sense). a lot of people i tried telling my theories disagree about grades being automated though, and that the inconsistent grading results actually indicate the opposite, that its human error rather than bad calibration/accuracy of the scanning system.

side note: PSA uploading scanned images for people to see is only new in the sense that its now publicly available for you to see during the grading process. But it has actually been part of their system for a few years now.

I know this because when i looked at PSA japans grading submission guidelines like 2 years ago, they explicitly stated that submissions with pull tabs will be rejected because it disrupts and slows down their grading process, and that pull tabs interfere with the accuracy of when the cards get scanned into the system which led me to believe that they are using automation to handle the overwhelming volume of cards they receive every day. I also dug around a year or so ago to see if i could find anything to support my theory and saw PSA did acquire an AI scanning company, Genamint, to help alleviate the backlog back in 2021. this reinforces my theories and imo pretty convincing that PSA is using automation for their grading process, but im not sure what others make of it because one discord group im in told me im just wrong and that automation for grading is years away from being adopted which i just dont agree with at all.

side side note: PSA in USA may have more lax standards and wont reject your submission even if you do these things, but PSA Japan guidelines explicitly state to not use perfect fit sleeves & pull tabs or they will reject your submission. Probably because Japan’s facility is smaller, and the employees dont get paid/have enough time to deal with unnecessary tasks and want things as streamlined as possible. You are most likely only making the order receiver’s job more difficult with the pull tab since they need to remove it before putting it through the machine/scanner, and using perfect fit sleeves makes the machine operator or whoever that has to remove the card from the sleeve more tedious because its harder to remove before the slabbing process. But tbh, idk if its just me, but i actually kind of wish PSA would put a sleeve on the card or improve their slabs since i dont like the idea of my cards being able to bounce or shake around in the slab.

would like to hear from a psa employee/recent employee that could provide compelling evidence confirming or debunking this though.

It was a speck of dust on the case.

Does the back left of this card have heaps of whitening or is it just my eyes

I think it is just a rough cut edge from the factory.

Just popped

SGC did some nice numbers .

Ultra modern so grades are a little lower than expected.
