日本のマーケット部分 The Giant Japanese Market Thread

Anyone have some information on any of these phone cards? I really want to grade some of the TOMY phone cards with Ash and Team Rocket, but PSA won’t grade them yet. I’m surprised they didn’t grade the ANA and CoroCoro/Shonen comic phone cards since they have dates on them, but maybe there isn’t much release info online. The One Piece were a long shot, but a Zelda one was too and it was actually graded.

This is more of a heads up but I recently shipped a few orders through buyee which included a couple of pricier cards combined with other psa slabs. For some reason buyee decided to place the psa slabs over the boxes that contained the expensive cards as shown below:

Typically my packages have some layer of protection (bubble wrap/air bags) below and above the cards which is pretty safe. As luck would have it, the outside box was crushed, no joke! Maybe some machamp karate-chopped it or a snorlax rolled over it but even the inside boxes were squished. Here’s the result:

Only the slabs on top were cracked. I was able to -surgically- crack the cases and remove the cards, thankfully no creases! Might toss them into my next psa submission. Hopefully this never happens to anyone else!

Did you request protective packaging?

I did not :frowning: I used too but felt even without it they usually do a good job stuffing the package with bubble wrap and air bags. ‘Tis life

I started using buyee more over ZenMarket a little while ago and my first package containing over 100,000yen of items was shipped in a large paper bag. There was not even any bubble wrap. Was amazed nothing arrived damaged. Now I always use the protective packaging.

I had that happen once as well (out of 15ish packages) but the original seller did good job protecting the cards. Getting the standard plan is also a must in the event of damage. Stressing out about shipments is just part of the experience I guess :smiling_face_with_tear:

I’ve always used protective packaging on every order and never had an issue. It’s worth the few extra dollars.

BGS 9.5 Umbreon Gold Star Japanese Play Promo - $60,000 (in auction)

Thoughts?

Crack for the cross over? I think PSA 10 did 60k or am I confusing with gold star

Disclaimer: I own a copy

That was the absolute worst setting to sell the card, because:

  • the title was wrong, didn’t include key words such as Play or Japanese.

  • for the above reason it could barely be found from eBay.com in a sea of random 25th Umbreon Gold Star.

  • couldn’t be seen internationally, I couldn’t find it at all from my EU account and eBay so I assume it couldn’t even be shipped internationally thru the eBay Vault, where the card was.

  • I’m mad I barely lost my 2nd copy

Card was insanely hard to find with conventional search strategies. Must have been an issue with the meta descriptions and tags.

Possibly a crack for the cross. PSA 10 went for $135,000 in late September 2023.

Weakest subs for a 9.5 you can have though

Seems high for a PSA 9 quality copy

4 posts were split to a new topic: Recent auction ended for Master’s Scroll

It’s BGS 9 centering which actually falls under PSA 10 centering parameters.

BGS 9 - Centering: 55/45 both ways on front. 70/30 or better on back.
BGS 9.5 - Centering: 50/50 one way, 55/45 the other on front. 60/40 or better on back

PSA 10 - Centering: The image must be centered on the card within a tolerance not to exceed approximately 55/45 to 60/40 percent on the front, and 75/25 percent on the reverse.

I don’t think that one 9 will hurt it but who knows. After measuring it, it appears to be approx 50/50 left to right and 45/55 top to bottom which qualifies for 9.5 on centering.
