Now I have also gone down the rabbit hole of watching these vlogs of buying expensive Pokémon cards in Japan

The two cards are not even in the same atmosphere of rarity
(And really were never close in price)

Tropical Wind has higher public sales than Lucky Stadium. They actually have been pretty close in price for a awhile, even before 2020 fomo.

I dont know if you can compare those two sales. May 2022 was the absolute bull market. (Literally the crypto peak)
At the same point in time, the two cards have never been in the same range

It generally doesnt matter and both are fantastic cards. It’s just not accurate afaik
Even when I was bidding on the Lucky Stadium in July 2020 (that Rusty ended up winning, PSA 8). PSA 8 Tropical Wind was not 18k.
And yes I am 1000% completely biased as the Lucky Stadium is my favorite card ever printed.

BTC and crypto peaked in November 2021 just like the stock market did. May 2022 was close to the lows

Nah, May was most portfolios ATH.
This is too long of a discussion to explain, but the # for crypto isnt everything.

You may need to explain how, unless you mean junk alt coins which I don’t follow

Sorry but previous sales says otherwise. There’s unfortunately not a lot of public sales data for either cards in high grades pre 2020. But I hunted both cards pre 2020 & they actually were close in price.
Even though these are vastly different grades it shows the Tropical Wind was definitely up there, even in a low grade. PSA 8s were going for $5k+ around this time & I think Onlycollectibles sold a Lucky Stadium PSA 9 for $7500. So ya, they were never really far apart.
Also I can definitely use 2021-2022 sales because Lucky Stadiums were selling publicly around those times as well & pretty much disprove your statement.

ok
Maybe they just are pulling apart now
, I wish there was more data, but if not then I guess it is what it is.

He’s just saying that because BAYC and other NFTs sold for the most ETH in May 22 but I’d still want some explanation since something selling for double the ETH in May 22 vs Nov 21 when ETH was double the price ends up being the same thing you just paid more of a devalued currency for it but maybe im missing something which I’m happy to learn more about
