Does anyone know about how much of the 100k of the stamp boxes/promos have been sent out?

It depends on how many of the winners went to the JP Post Office to get them

What’s going on with the stamp boxes? Does anyone in Japan know the situation? Price gone up a bit. Are we actually gonna get 100k because it’s behaving like a card that is more limited.

I’m noticing the same. Not a ton of new listings. 100k is a lot, but how many people who got a lottery ticket wanted to keep it? It’s a very beautiful cross-collector item.

In other topics, anyone noticing the 25th promo packs are drying up pretty quick and not a ton of new listings? I’m not worried about English because I know they’ll print more. Do we know if they will print more of the promo packs?

On that note, day 1 of release, the Umbreon Gold Star was in the low 80s. A lot of people gobbled them up and now lowest listing is $92. I am very curious to see the trend over the next few weeks. I can’t decide if it will go up or down.

The japanese 25th set promos are stunning. Every card pops in a way it has not before that the English side unfortunately doesn’t have. Throwing in the apparent relatively limited promo packs and I think it’ll be hard to overpay at current prices, but it’s also super early so who knows.

Not including one promo pack in a booster box is really disappointing. But the Pikachu V and Vmax cards are fantastic. No complaints there. I bought them all and will pick up the promo pack cards I am interested in.

I would say, yes, they WILL print more promo packs based on the fact that the golden box, whose contents include 5 promo packs, will be made to demand through December 2022. That’s the strongest indicator I’ve seen that more will be printed.

100K in a nation of 125 million people.

I’m certainly not going to sell mine for a few thousand yen more than I paid for it, and I imagine a lot of the lottery winners probably feel the same way.

Still, compared to other promos which had massive availability (unknown numbers tho) the prices and listings seems to be rather limited.

Regarding the lottery nature of the release, big sellers couldn’t just grab 100 of these like you normally see on EBay. Random people all over Japan got them by lottery and many kids and collectors are happy to have won and will keep the set at least until the price appreciates. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone with more than 10, but the vast majority of sellers have 1-2

I ended up spending the 5x msrp on eBay. I’ve seen w/ stamp around $200 (5x) and no stamp around $130. I’ve also seen the promo cards only for $100. I made sure to clarify with the seller that the stamp sheet was included before purchasing.

My reasoning was similar to those mentioned earlier is that Japanese collectors are getting these rather than resellers and they would want to keep them. I’d never recommend buying something for 5x msrp and my decision is not financially sound but the box has been my most anticipated release this year.

So, $175? That’s actually a pretty good deal. Congrats!

I’m buying it with just the promo. The going rate is now around 150-160 usd for just the cards on eBay. Like teraz said, I also think it’s encouraging that there’s no x50 or x100 copies listings like with the Charizard illustrator promo.

On Yahoo Japan, the stamp sheets alone are now selling for more than the retail price of the box set.

Can Japanese residents legally sell stamps to other Japanese residents without a license? Or is any reselling of stamps prohibited without a license? Just curious if the holdup on selling complete boxes with stamps is just an international issue, or also domestic?

Applies domestically too. There was a small thread here with a link in Japanese with some info:

Without the license, it’s illegal to resell the stamps. (I’ve had one the licenses since the late 1990s, and it has to be renewed every few years. The license covers more than just the resale of stamps.)

Holy CP6 prices. I was curious how the 20th stuff was doing among the 25th mania. CP6 boxes was unfortunately one train I missed at release and never jumped on. I remember when boxes where <$100, but I was still just getting back into the hobby and skipped modern for awhile at first due to the saturation. CP6 Boxes are now selling for 20-30x? $2000 - $3000 each?!

That’s seems like a pretty good indicator to stock on 25th stuff. Personally I think the special box (4boosters and 1 promo and 1 chansey coin) is a great buy. It ensures that the promo pack inside hasn’t been searched and it’s quite a cute little box and currently very affordable. Outside of the promo singles, I think those special boxes will be my main buy from the Japanese release.

None of the regular schemers going “investing lol” or constantly “recommending” moderation have bothered saying anything about the japanese release. Literally no-one besides maybe one or two amateur Youtubers as far as I can tell. This is another good indicator.

The prospect of this product is so obvious, they all know it is both useless and reputationally disastrous to say otherwise. TPC have to make some unprecedented moves to ruin this.
