thoughts on ex reverse psa 10s?
Undervalued
There were a fair few lower sales than recents in the Z&G block yesterday which was interesting, especially when compared to some of the Goldin sales.
20k down on Legend Maker Gengar, 20k down on Plasma Storm Zard, 7k down FRLG Gengar among other smaller swings for Fossil and Jungle especially.
Goldin has +28k on Expedition Gengar, +13k crobat crystal, a 92k crystal Zard, Shining Zard down at 55k from 72k, 95k crystal lugia when 79k got unpaid the other week.
Every sale seems to be a random number generator these days
This is the danger when dropping 5 figures on a single card in an environment of hype and speculation: mass volatility.
Maybe to some of these buyers being $20k down means nothing, but that’s a stupid amount of money to the average person to lose speculating on cardboard. These swings aren’t even over the course of a few years, it’s a couple weeks.
The RNG comment is great. You’d have a better chance trying to land two Focus Blasts in a row than to try and rationalize 2026 buyer behavior.
Or traversing the agility course in the Underground Pass quest on your first try, sheesh… More likely to run out of food and have to walk all the way back from East Ardougne at least once ![]()
Y’all know what I’m talking about
Is he wrong? I had this discussion with a buddy the other day and ironically a member here mentioned this as well in talking.
Has the price of truly justified low pops in high grade just priced most people out, creating the reverse holo market boom. Is there any chance the unjustified low pop prices become justified if the boom never truly busts? Why am I starting to sound like a holy man lol
Crazier still is we are starting to see the bar dip further to no holo at all ![]()
Fundamentally I agree with him but in the world today it seems like if you are an economics guy, what you were taught your whole life is being thrown to the wind.
I’m hoping to hold it for at least a year before seeing if it seems like a good idea to sell
I havent looked into these yet
Thoughts on r/pokeinvesting?
The wind always blows back eventually, guess it just depends if it’s going to be a light breeze or a category 5 hurricane
imagine spending 20k on a pop 100+ pokey that was prolly 2k two years ago, when if u put that same 20k into taytay ornaments or something it would be worth 100k by the time it arrives at ur doorstep ![]()
those guys just hord modern trash products last time i check, and then have no clue how to sell them when they actually want to realize profits
i doubt they know anything about psa 10 wotc holos
Congrats on a cool card! I want to say this was already a 10k card in 2020 so it really hasn’t grown much (relative to other cards) in growth % since then. If I remember right when I was looking at the black star promos at that time this card had a pop of only 9. Then one day the pop nearly doubled. I couldn’t afford it to begin with but for a hard to grade card it was clear a grader was having a generous day and to me it was the start of my waning interest in PSA 10 cards. Besides the venusaur I bought the rest of that entire set for less than 10k! Crazy how times change.
Maybe the buyer isn’t buying for investment purposes anon
ppl buy pokemans not as an “investment” ![]()
Anyone else notice some wobbles in psa 10 wotc market, not your upper uper cards, but your mid tier holos from various sets?
