The guy owning this card for a month and making 9k is so bonkers. I wonder if it was someone who bought for his collection and then just saw the incredible rise and cashed in, or if it was a calculated move.

An interesting thought. In my book spending $20k on a card with your own money is crazy (not using funds from selling other cards first). But holding onto cards that went from $100 to $20k is treated ok. It’s equally irresponsible to hold, but it feels different when you spend practically nothing for it.

Thanks, I don’t use IG much. Half expect it to be paid because we are in a crazy time/market and half to be unpaid, as the jump in price is a little crazy.

Same! My non tcg stuff is stupid high to hold onto right now.
I am sensing a mini exodus coming from people that built their collection up pre-2024. I already saw it happening with some poke friends in 2025. Now it seems like a lot of people are saying “how can you hold onto it now”
Wonder if that will put some water on the fire - if supply of good cards hits the market quickly
