I thought its CGCs job to grade the cut up shit ![]()
I don’t like this
Me - a blastoise collector - ehhh I dunno, I kinda like this? Just maybe stop the supply/cutting, if and when (unlikely lol) I ever get one ![]()
now that its with psa and not stuck with cgc someone will want 2 million bux for one
![]()
One million dollars. ![]()
Wow, this seems significant for PSA. I am very curious to see if they expand into other variants only recognized by CGC.
@cataclysm80 You may find this interesting.
Thanks!
I’ve been waiting months for this announcement. Glad to see the day has finally arrived. ![]()
Awhile back, PSA reached out to me for assistance with these two cards, so I’ve been looking forward to the public reveal.
These two cards are from an ex WotC employee, and were factory cut.
They’re additional copies of the card, which hadn’t been shown to the public until now.
Everyone can stop the accusations of sheet cutting. These two didn’t come from the sheets sold on Heritage, and I’m pretty sure that strip of 5 cards is still in a single piece.

edit: just noticed that PSA didn’t give these two cards a numerical grade. wonder why
One of these cards is currently being auctioned on Goldin.
I thought its CGCs job to grade the cut up shit
PSA: Probably Slaps Anything
They refused to slab Snowstorm Umbreon & @pfm has proof.
Whats this?
“Authentic” looks way way better than PSA 5.5 on the label
Not sure what the exact grade would be, but yeah, that’s probably the reason.
PSA refused to slab these Blastoise test prints years ago, but over time enough evidence has surfaced that they’re comfortable with it now.
Perhaps that means there’s still some hope for the Snowstorm Umbreon (whatever that is)?
What should the price of this be? Goldin set a starting bid at $25k, but the value of various Protostoises has fluctuated dramatically over time. Obviously the real answer is, “What someone is willing to pay for it,” but that is not exactly helpful.
Looking at the other Protostoise post, which shows all the sales in chronological order, you can see that the price has been going down over time.
It started at 360,000 for a graded card, and the most recent sale is 162,000 for a graded card.
Decreasing value is normal, as supply increases and demand gets satisfied by the supply.
Then there’s the row of 5 cards, which sold for 45,000.
That’s a shockingly cheap price compared to the previous sale of 162k for a single card.
That sheet row won’t be sold so cheaply in the future, because the owner would just keep it instead.
The value for this Goldin auction will depend heavily on how many people think $45k was too cheap, vs how many people think $45k was realistic.
Of course the auction winner will be someone who thinks $45k was too cheap, because that group of people is willing to bid higher.
You guys are teasing us Eevee collectors. What is the “Snowstorm Umbreon”
if cgc version sold for 200k then psa version gotta be worth at least 2 milly
:seemslegit:
also depends on how many of those cgc copies will be crossed to psa ![]()
Been nervously waiting for an answer all day
