I remember No 1 owners quoting they were declining $100k offers a few years ago. It’s sad to think that some people once sold 6-7 figures worth of cards to get one of these.

Similar to the PSA 10 Trainer Deck B Blastoise I bought last week (pop 23), this Eevee in a PSA 10 has a population of 31.
What really sets it apart though is the Blastoise is pop 23 in a 10 with only 77 in any grade.
This Eevee, however is pop 31 in a 10 with 10,087 graded. That is a 0.003% chance of grading a 10, which seems insane to me.
Both of these cards also have extremely few sales. Like 1 or 2 sales a year, which I think also leads to people FOMOing on them in the rare occasion they go up for auction
Also Eevee and Blastoise are fan favorites, which I think is important too.
Thats the idea behind my investment strategy with these 2 cards. Hoping it works out.
Even the 1st Edition Lugia from Neo Genesis has a PSA 10 rate that is 2x as high as it is for this Eevee

the gem rate does indicate its unlikely more will enter the market, but ultimately you’re making a bet that the number of future buyers at >20k is larger than the number of people holding that would sell at 20k or less. the last few months have shown that some subset of collectors will sell once stuff hits a price point, so will be curious if it works out, for these slightly more niche cards
LOVE this card. Price should be way higher for this PSA10. I’ve been aware of the abysmal gem rate for a few years now, can confirm that finding decent copies of this card is impossible. I’ve got 2 copies of this card at CGC grading at the moment, hoping for a CGC10. There’s no CGC Pristine of this card, with 5,700 cards graded. There’s 11 CGC10’s in existence.

charizord is hovering around the 500-550k mark which is not that much more than 2021 price because for one realistically spending half a milly on one pokeman is a lot for 99.9999% of ppl and for 2 everytime theres a major boom everyone is always tryna dump them so even with the relatively “low pop” of 125 they are like always around at auction
A very solid buy. That card has always been impossible to grade in a 10 and IMO it’s a fairly safe bet to stay incredibly expensive lol.
