The Giant Deal Thread

While your post is helpful, multiple members have stopped using vvjapan. Any issue falls on the buyer.

I remember buying a sealed scream mimikyu and they informed me it was only for the plastic around the sealed card… This was minutes after sending the funds. They could have easily cancelled like any normal person would, but chose to fight it and lost to Paypal.

I’ve used middlemen for a decade and never had such a terrible experience. These Japanese sites needs to get out of the Stone Age and become global. The middleman structure is antiquated.

C’mon Scott, look on the bright side, you have plastic more expensive than PSA’s Express Service plastic!

Jokes aside, that is a terrible situation and an unprofessional one from them. Their service to me has always been 100% so I guess it is one of those cases in which a 5-star restaurant had a dish which had a hair in it, making the consumer (literally) never coming back again.

I’m surprised my other Mimikyus weren’t bath water

The starting price kinda amuses me - it’s the same price that the Illustrator card went for oh so long ago.

Ah, nostalgia.

Dunno if it’s been posted on here yet

I think people who are in the market for an illustrator will have no issues with the bid limit pkonno has proven that time and again. But yeah Yahoo Japan would not be my first choice lol

No rarity Charizard, might be mint (9) ?

I would believe after the prior larger sales that there is already a point of contact between buyer/seller and none of the middleman sites were used.

Can someone explain when 1st ed. Rocket’s Scyther became this expensive? I’m looking at sold Gym card listings and the best offer accepted settles over $700.

Maybe cause there hasn’t been a sale of one in a long time? I guess the buyer was impatient.

What happened to the listing for the illustrator???

Auction got cancelled and the seller got suspended. Two speculations on why but more likely the first option.

  1. Seller could have gotten an outside offer via ‘send a question’ and accepted by ending the auction and was hence suspended by Yahoo Auctions, similar to how eBay will ban you if you accept an offer to deal outside the platform.

  2. Maybe shill bidding? The top 2 bidders were zero feedback, new users hence the concern so YA took action.

you can see all the question and the answer because it’s pubblic for all on yahoo. No one write an offer. So option 1 is impossible.

On Yahoo Auctions, when you send a question to the seller, only the seller can see it. If and only if the seller decides to reply to that question, only then the question along with the answer will become public. Only Qs and As exist on listings, there are no Qs only.

there was a lot of question and answers about also the ship and he don’t want meet etc wrote. Someone do an offer and he don’t replied and he accept without see the finish auction that was good with some bidder and one was 206 feedback so a lot. For me was a fake auction… Classic yahoo.

El Chapo strike again!
