The Giant Deal Thread

I love how CoL was a more or less universally trashed on it’s release, and even quite long after it’s release and now it’s become a little niche obscure corner of the market.

Cheapest one I’ve seen so far: www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-Pokemon-with-You-Wagon-Pikachu-Tomodachi-no-Wa-Circle-of-Friends-Japan-Card-/222436253565?hash=item33ca3bdf7d:g:JiwAAOSwB-1Yw7kL

Pikachu YOU Wagon with a starting bid of 200 USD. About 2/9th of what I paid for mine including shipping… :unamused: Ah well… Figured someone else might be interested in it.

Greetz,

If anyone is procrastinating picking up a set of the English League Promo Trainer Badge cards, here is a $50 OBO that looks like they’d genuinely consider a slightly lower offer.

This set has been climbing in price rather aggressively and is incredibly collectible. It has everything you want to see in a new release.

Dunno, but last I checked, the PSA 10 pop for all of the CoL shinies was less than 5. Some of them were even at 1. Not too often 10s of these show up for sale.

Why is not many people grading this set? Having shining legendaries (lugia, ho-oh, rayquaza) and some wicked artwork, one would think this could be the Flashfire of BW.

Like I said earlier, these are hard to find in mint
condition. Even if you include played and NM copies, there aren’t that many available online for any of the SL cards in the set. That probably is due to the initial lack of interest in Call of Legends like @milhouse mentioned. Few people stashing these away = less copies available for sale today.

Now THIS is impressive - all 5 shiny players eeveelutions - SEALED. page6.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/f195259359?u=%3bpokecashop_buibui

I won his auction tonight for $36 for the set. Think I was second on the previous set he had listed that ended around $37. I’m not sure if not too many people are aware of these cards or demand hasn’t really spiked (or maybe people aren’t as interested in the set and are looking for singles because they already have a few of them like I do). I think sub $40 they are a decent deal. I don’t think I’d be willing to pay $50+ though.

The market is still being flushed. There’s a surprisingly small number of leagues in the United States. League promos have grown in demand but physical stores are still very hard to keep up and running. Give it some time. They didn’t start at $35-40 a set. That’s almost double since their release.

I’ve noticed the opposite almost. As they were released they were in the $8-$12 range each per wave. Some of the Japanese ones were a bit cheaper but the English releases have held pretty steady in that range. Now were seeing multiple auctions ending sub $40 so I’d say now is the best time to buy. But I haven’t seen the doubling of the set since they were made public, just the opposite, where at $36 they are selling for roughly half of what they originally cost to buy as singles.

I bought 10+ sets between $20-25 from different sellers immediately after the last promo was released. Probably 60/40 Facebook to eBay ratio. They’re still moving around, but I see a general increase in a much shorter period of time than is typical for these types of cards. They’re absolutely selling $40-50 range.

I don’t pay attention to Japanese promos so I won’t comment on those.

I think you got low end actions. These are also a difficult product to track because of the wide range of key terms that may include/exclude certain listings. So a good title might increase your sale price.

Dang! I never saw a set for that low else I would have snatched some up too. I had trouble finding Brock and Misty under like $6 each and as soon as I saw full sets they were close to $100. Can’t say I was actively hunting them on release but sets seems few and far between for a while due to the staggered releases of the cards.

Yeah, I never saw them hit $100 a set. If that’s what you were seeing, they’re down from that. Lol.

I still really recommend the promos to people and I think getting them around $40-45 is a worthwhile price that will hold out for you long term.

Is this really meant for GAT?
Perhaps move this topic to another thread… thanks…

So it was YOU! I Didn’t want to go too crazy. Actually offered one of the other guys with the OBO and paid around the same. Wasn’t going to get the english ones as I already have the Japanese Holo set, but I had to I guess.
