Really love that Kyogre piece. Looked up the artist and he has got some great pieces featuring legendary pokemon. He really exaggerates their size which gives them a stronger legendary feel to me. For example, Regirock is only 5ft 7in.
@wotcfetish, @eyesofmadara, These are great, especially the Kyogre. Who’s the Artist?
Anyone else could use one of these right now?
One thing that makes Arita’s work so consistent is his digital cleanup of the lines and shading in the artwork.
Midori Harada is back, not having drawn since 004/070 Scatterbug in S5I Single Strike Master (Jan 2021)
Best VMAX artwork in a long while for me
non-3D VMAXes are actually kinda sick
Mad hatter and E-reader extraordinaire Umemoto.
Amazing Kecleon art. Love Oshiyama’s use of color here. This artist has created some exceptional pieces. Great eye, thanks for sharing @c0ll3ct0r
One of my favorite cards in the last few years. I even made a mediocre deck out of it
I’ve always loved that Cloyster art. Beautiful background and the nice solid linework really help him to pop.
Just started working on my kusajima binder. SO nice and a decent variety too!
Totally agree, it’s beautiful and it stands out. The background looks like an abstraction of Ice Beam or Icy Wind, such a good idea to do it like that, more common to see artists do similar things with Fire or Electric types but rarely Ice types.
What are people’s thoughts on the HGSS era holo rare arts? Not the ultra rares and stuff but I personally have been exploring this era for fun recently and really like the holo rares a lot. I like the arts a lot more than the DP/P era cards too. Generally the print quality feels very good and I have found many raws that are not in bad shape at all. Even reverses seem to be easy grades. Obviously people like COL but not looking at secrets I found that most holos are not expensive. Was there a massive supply boom in this era that I am not aware of that is causing these cheap prices? Or is it really just not in demand?
