Sorry if these are reposts. The realistic Houndoom is my all time favorite card and the Charizard blocking the snow is easily one of the best 'zard arts imo.
This nidoran artwork always reminded me of those famous cave/rock formations with the light peering through. Maybe that was Arita’s inspiration but it goes to show how well Arita creates a believable and beautiful scene that each pokemon is in.
I can’t be the only one who thinks that Base Pikachu matches Fossil Raichu way better than Base Raichu. While Jungle Pikachu is a perfect match for Base Raichu (not only for the Sugimori art itself, also the background).
I learned the other day that the artworks for Neo Revelation Celebi, Sneasel and Sudowoodo all come from the same original illustration by Sumiyoshi Kizuki. I never realized they were related, so discovering this gave me a deeper appreciation for them. Thought I’d share
Japanese exclusive sleeves/playmat. Octillery ink calligraphy, and Komiya at it again with his hilarious artwork contrasting the largest and smallest pokemon.
I was going through some bulk that I had and found some cool things. I could write a paragraph on each, but no one wants that so I’ll let the art do the talking. Also in TRR is a Komiya pair of Swinub and Houdour that both seem to be in the same room eating apples.
Maybe two Memory Berrys(?) is over the top but they both made me think of the black lotus
Those look so good! And boy am I jealous. I never made the connection on the Ho-oh/Lugia/Skarmory art either; did you pick these up off eBay? Thanks so much for sharing!
They were on Yahoo. I didn’t search for them, they just came up randomly one day. I find it’s hard to actually search for postcards (or maybe they’re just posted very infrequently), so I think it’s just about getting lucky.
I’ve had this card for probably over a decade. I can’t even remember where or how I got it, but every time I see it in my binder I fall back in love with it
This card has really nice artwork, I saw it when I was going through ex set lists and instantly bought one. I’d definitely recommend picking one up, I paid $2 for it NM.
