Technical bug reports/issues thread

…like this.

I see the Meowth on all posts here.

It could be your browser caching an old image. Try a ctrl+f5 if you are on PC or cmd+shift+R on mac to do a cache refresh (idk how on mobile).

It could also be that the system could take time to propagate the change

Either way, I don’t see the problem from my end and it will likely be resolved in a short timeframe if there is an issue

This is what I see

Ctrl+F5 didn’t fix it, fyi (on Windows)

not an Alt+f4

JK, don’t do that, anyone!

Debugging web applications sucks LOL

It’s fine on mobile, firefox, chrome and a private window for me. I think this is something that should fix itself. If not fixed in 24hrs, let me know tomorrow

yep. One reason I quit working with web apps. Respect ya’ man.

And nope. Hard reload did not fix it, neither did a browser image cache clear.

I figured something out here, it only happens when I select multiple photos to upload at once. So I just have to select them one by one which isn’t really an issue since I’m never posting more than a few images at once

Can you post an example of some images that won’t upload together so i can try from my phone?

Oh to be clear the images do upload, just not when I select multiple like this. I can upload as many as I want in a post but I have to do it by adding them one by one

Just a follow up, it fixed it when I changed my avatar. and I do remember an interesting quirk. I uploaded a new gif, and it was the “too big” version (oops). so I uploaded the proper one, but after that, is when I noticed the bug. When I go back, I’ll see what happens. Cheers!

So the issues reappeared and even go worse. I can not even open a new tab now without the site freezing entirely. So the site is basically unusable for me. With the new safe mode link, everything works perfectly fine.

Sorry to ask you to do more work regarding this. Are you given these options when you open safe mode? Can you see which of these checkboxes cause the problem? It will help me narrow it down.

Are you using any chrome extensions? If you open a private window and navigate while not logged in does it work?

Quite the opposite. I really appreciate the effort you are putting in.

The results are as followed:

  1. the Issues appear when I deactivate one of the following options:

Disable themes and theme components
Disable all plugins

  1. if I login in incognito mode, the site works flawless

:face_with_spiral_eyes:

maybe try clearing cookies for the site? I’m not sure what else incognito could be doing that fixes the issue

I cleared the cookies already two times. Tried it this way as well, and it didn’t even work for a minute :frowning:

How about chrome extensions? I just read that extensions are disabled when browsing incognito

Good idea.
I tried around a bit and i think I found the culprit. It is this extension.

No Problem is now I have to chose between refreshing the site every time or resetting every YouTube video to 1080p because for some reason it’s always 480p. That sucks

Edit: Maybe I found a workaround. Thank you for all the effort <3

I think you can restrict extensions to certain sites. Maybe a bit concerning that an extension that is only supposed to do a narrow task can cause problems like this though. Glad we could figure it out!

Exactly that is what I did. Hope that works. Was surprised that a recommended extension can cause something like this.

Thank you again for all the effort you put in.
