Looks like they are trying to piggyback off Detective Pikachu. Not sure why Sonic needs a movie. I love Sonic, but there isn’t really much lore.

I wish they would stop making smooth characters like Sonic and pokemon furry.

This was one of my favorite games as a kid. I even remember watching the cartoon in the mornings on the weekend and complaining about how it wasn’t as good as the game, but the cartoon might as well be an Oscar winning film compared to the dumpster fire that is this trailer.

True, I used to watch the cartoon a lot though, think they have it on Netflix or Amazon Video. I cant remember. They made Sonic look pretty stupid to be honest.
I love Jim Carrey, I am afraid I would have to still wait till it goes to Redbox lol.
Coming soon, in a theater near you, a movie nobody was waiting for: Sonic the Hedgehog. It seems like a huge step down for James Marsden after his Westworld bout. As for Jim Carrey, the last time he was relevant was back in 2008 with Yes Man (you could argue 2011 if you REALLY like penguins). I loved him as a kid and he’s definitely a unique person but he’s been lost for quite a while now with what happened in his private life and whatnot.
So when do I get my Crash Bandicoot movie?

I don’t get the hate, but then again, I wasn’t expecting a groundbreaking movie either.
It comes across like a lighthearted movie with a nice comedy angle. Also, it looks pretty self aware; That’s a plus as well.
As for how Sonic looks? With the images of this design floating around the internet for a few weeks now, I’ve warmed up to that design. I needed a few days before I was fully on board of how the Pokémon looked in Detective Pikachu as well.

Maybe Jim’s promotion of socialism was just him staying in character as Dr. Robotnik/Eggman.
Also, YouTubers are getting copyright strikes from reacting to the Sonic trailer because of Gangster’s Paradise that plays in the trailer.

I don’t know why they thought that this design of sonic would ever work? It looks terrible
I love how the franchise continues to pump out garbage after garbage (what was the last sonic thing that looked even remotely good?)
Yet despite this it’s still a massive IP
They tried to humanize him, its a damn hedgehog !
