I don’t really understand the hate regarding species selection…they are very clearly going to be including many first time shinies here, and the only repeat line that has been revealed thus far which also wasn’t on the pack art/official promotional ads was the Lucario line (which gets the pass for being so popular - if anything needs to be repeated, it should be popular Pokémon).
The set has 140+ shinies, which we know about a minimum 37 of:
Charmander line + SAR (4)
Alakazam line (3)
Mew SAR (1)

Gardevoir line (3)
Lucario line (2)
Mime Jr (1)
Mimikyu (1)
Sprigatito line (3)

Of these, only 12 are repeats - and all 12 are popular, fan-favorite Pokémon. That’s 9% of the shiny subset being fan-favorites to satisfy those people who claim newer sets shouldn’t only rely on brand-new Pokémon and instead should try and cater more towards longtime fans. All signs point towards the rest of the reveals being predominantly first-time shinies. I really don’t see the issue here.

It can fit in the 7 slots between 216/190 S Crocalor and 224/190 S Quaxly, but there will also have to be shiny Staryu. As far as the set is laid out, it seems every Pokémon in the main set is getting a shiny or better, so Staryu & Starmie just have to be present

Brassius and Atticus are probably getting cards and they will be before Judge.
Pokékid and Cara Liss promos both received an SR in S4a Shiny Star V so you’re probably right. Chi-Yu ex and Wo-Chien ex are also in this set so their ‘SSR or better’ cards have to place somewhere, especially if the Treasures of Ruin are meant to be together

There shouldn’t be any doubt now that the whole Paldea dex will be shiny, barring the Paradox Pokemon and maybe Koraidon/Miraidon

Couldn’t find a better quality pic. It’s a pretty card, but it seems odd for Pokemon. A human that isn’t drawn in a more typical cartoon or anime style is different. Especially in normal sets. I like it, but it invokes a different feeling compared to looking at something like a CHR.

100%. The pilgrim style character with very soft lines is not something i ever mentally associate with pokemon!
