this set top to bottom is gorgeous i love where modern pokemon is and is going
I honestly have no words for how pumped I am to get this era started! This is one of the best base sets period. ex cards back, art rares, pokemon center promos, rainbow rares being most likely gone, new mons and so much more is going for these sets.
For a bit now it really feels like we have been in a renaissance for modern SV cards are really bringing that home!

I was really excited to see that SowSow did multiple illustrations for this set! I get super excited when the new sets come out because I like to see if SowSow or any of my other favorites have done any new cards. One of the newer artists that has caught my eye in the past year or so is Tika Matsuno. After seeing their Growlithe coming out in this set, I think it might be time for me to start a new artist binder!

Good lord. Kanda has absolutely burst onto the scene since his start in Brilliant Stars. The Giratina Alt, the Galarian Moltres from Vstar, the winter Magmar from Brilliant and now this. Superstar illustrator in the making

Old PC ETB’s:
10 packs for $49.99 = $4.99 a pack.
New PC ETB’s:
11 packs for $59.99 = $5.45 a pack.
This is pretty much in line with the 50 cent increase in Pokemon packs, which is from $3.99 USD to $4.49 USD. And then you get an extra promo so I think the new ETB’s are technically better.
ETB’s in general have never been a good bang for your buck though.

Kind of bummed to see that CG Works SR since I feel like those Full Arts should have ended with SWSH, but otherwise good looking cards!
AR/SAR theme of the sets appears to be ‘family’ - either as a singular card or 2-3 connected artworks
