Sales Data for 2003-2007 EX PSA 9/10 Cards-Jan 2022 Update!

Anyone have any recent sales data on PSA 10 Dragon Frontiers Latias ex? I recently acquired a CGC 9.5 so I’m in talks with someone who really wants the PSA 10 to potentially sell my copy, but we can’t find any recent comps.

@randox or anyone else – any idea?

Most recent comps that I could find were from 2021.

$1,252 - December 2021
$1,250 - July 2021

Based on the population report, recent PSA 9 sales, and the overall market right now, I would value it between $900 and $1,000. Hope this was helpful…

I think this is more valuable than the latios. From memory, one sold privately for around 1.5k this year. I’d probably put it around that and I think it should be worth more than the ex dragon one given the pop

@Dyl @randox had someone who was firm on wanting to pay $1500 for it, which I was considering. Ended up getting a separate $1600 offer for it from a fellow forum member, which I accepted. So your estimate was pretty spot-on, Randox! I had also pegged it at around that price. $900-$1000 would definitely be too low given that the Latios has pretty recently sold for around that much and it has a 50% higher pop.

Sad to let the card go, but I’m happy that it’s going to another collector who will appreciate it the way it should be! It’s one of a handful of PSA 10s that I couldn’t bring myself to sell until I had a replacement copy lined up.

Glad to hear that everything worked out.

I think the artwork is more important than the Pokémon in this case. The other Flygon ex PSA 10 from Legend Maker sold for around $1000 last month.

I’ll add the legend maker has 27 PSA 10’s while the other flygon has 60 PSA 10’s

Blissey ex Unseen forces is live on pwcc atm. interesting to see where it ends!

Wow – lowest sale I’ve seen for almost 3 years! What’s interesting is that the PSA 9 price has been quite stable, but the PSA 10 price has retraced by 50%+. This is despite the fact that the PSA 9 pop has been growing at approximately 2x the rate as PSA 10 pop. What used to be a 10x multiplier between PSA 9 and 10 price has narrowed down to a 5x multiplier. Interesting to see!

Wow that is a great ending price. Yeah with where 9s are sitting for many ex I’m surprised the gap isn’t higher.

I was following this auction because it had gone unsold under $1000 for a couple previous auctions and I was wondering how much lower it would end at, and I have to say I was extremely tempted to put in a bid for another one of these.

Found this website which i think we can use for most price data moving forward. I think it does a great job overall but there are some cards which aren’t accurate as they trade privately (low pop 10s). It uses both pwcc and ebay i think to get prices. Also includes market cap and other cool info!

if possible, I would love to add the private sales information to the website, I sent you a DM, and thanks for referencing. It would be great to add those low pop sales.

Have you considered adding Heritage/PWCC sales to the site? Quite a few low pop ex sales from those.

How ugly was this 10? First gen labels always give me pause

It looked pretty solid from the photos! I don’t think that’s what resulted in the price. Card has had 27% pop growth over the past year (44 → 56). That’s a decent amount of extra supply for a very niche market to absorb.

The price decline is only surprising in light of the strength of the PSA 9. The pop has grown by 57% over the past year (148 → 232), but the price has been pretty steady in the $200-$250 range for ~2.5 years now.

I would say old labels sadly always result in lower prices assuming everything else is kept constant. For example, I’m very rarely willing to buy any first gen labels myself and i think there’s other collectors ive met who have mentioned the same.

Sure - will reply with a few datapoints!

I think pwcc is already included in the data! Correct me if im wrong @TCGFish

I think TCGFish ran the numbers a while back and showed that the older certs only had a 2.5-5% difference in price Why are newer PSA cert #s worth more? - #26 by TCGFish

So basically a real but pretty small effect
