Anyone have any recent sales data on PSA 10 Dragon Frontiers Latias ex? I recently acquired a CGC 9.5 so I’m in talks with someone who really wants the PSA 10 to potentially sell my copy, but we can’t find any recent comps.
I think this is more valuable than the latios. From memory, one sold privately for around 1.5k this year. I’d probably put it around that and I think it should be worth more than the ex dragon one given the pop
@Dyl@randox had someone who was firm on wanting to pay $1500 for it, which I was considering. Ended up getting a separate $1600 offer for it from a fellow forum member, which I accepted. So your estimate was pretty spot-on, Randox! I had also pegged it at around that price. $900-$1000 would definitely be too low given that the Latios has pretty recently sold for around that much and it has a 50% higher pop.
Sad to let the card go, but I’m happy that it’s going to another collector who will appreciate it the way it should be! It’s one of a handful of PSA 10s that I couldn’t bring myself to sell until I had a replacement copy lined up.
Wow – lowest sale I’ve seen for almost 3 years! What’s interesting is that the PSA 9 price has been quite stable, but the PSA 10 price has retraced by 50%+. This is despite the fact that the PSA 9 pop has been growing at approximately 2x the rate as PSA 10 pop. What used to be a 10x multiplier between PSA 9 and 10 price has narrowed down to a 5x multiplier. Interesting to see!
I was following this auction because it had gone unsold under $1000 for a couple previous auctions and I was wondering how much lower it would end at, and I have to say I was extremely tempted to put in a bid for another one of these.
Found this website which i think we can use for most price data moving forward. I think it does a great job overall but there are some cards which aren’t accurate as they trade privately (low pop 10s). It uses both pwcc and ebay i think to get prices. Also includes market cap and other cool info!
if possible, I would love to add the private sales information to the website, I sent you a DM, and thanks for referencing. It would be great to add those low pop sales.
It looked pretty solid from the photos! I don’t think that’s what resulted in the price. Card has had 27% pop growth over the past year (44 → 56). That’s a decent amount of extra supply for a very niche market to absorb.
The price decline is only surprising in light of the strength of the PSA 9. The pop has grown by 57% over the past year (148 → 232), but the price has been pretty steady in the $200-$250 range for ~2.5 years now.
I would say old labels sadly always result in lower prices assuming everything else is kept constant. For example, I’m very rarely willing to buy any first gen labels myself and i think there’s other collectors ive met who have mentioned the same.
