Hi everyone! I have reconstructed the EX PSA 10 pricing data that we recently lost. I want to thank everyone who helped me with recent private sales data. Special thanks to Zorloth, Hisoka, SinnerGT, Pokemonargentinatcg and pokeflex87 who are all on E4. Please comment to discuss recent sales as you see them (or anything EX related for that matter!)

Some quick observations/notes to get started:

  • I have moved to a “most recent” list rather than “highest ever” sale list. Not everything has been updated perfectly and in some cases I may have missed a more recent sale which was lower than the previous one. In the case that 2 private sales happen in the same ~month, I will take the higher value as the value I use.
  • Total value of all EX 10s from all 16 sets is now ~189k USD. This excludes gold stars and regular holos.
  • Many of these cards sell very infrequently. I am using PSA 9/CGC 9.5/BGS 9.5 prices on a few cards in the instance that the 9/9.5 eclipses the value of the last recorded PSA10 sale. DF, EX emerald, EX Deoxy’s & TMTA have been most disadvantaged by infrequent sales data and low pops.
  • Where I put “no recent sales”. This means that the sale value hasn’t been in the last 5 months or so for the PSA 10.
  • I have used 130point to be able to see offers accepted on ebay. All prices are in USD. Quite a few of these sales have happened in CAD or EUR or AUD. They have been converted at current FX.
  • I aim to update this every 6 months or so. I now own all 139 of these in PSA10! The time and effort required to obtain all of these is huge!
  • Private sale data will be used for PSA 10 prices but not for PSA 9 prices given they sell frequently enough on eBay.
  • The first PSA 9 EX price update is now live (Nov 2021)! PSA 9 Prices will be updated every ~year.

Interesting to see the Raikou go for so low. I wish I bought it. I expected it to go for $800+.

That seller immediately cancelled the sale and relisted it at 800 OBO, as per the negative feedback.

EX movement has been interesting lately. We see big cards like Charizard/Milotic hitting new highs, but the rising tide is not lifting all boats nor are all cards going up as we saw in previous months. That Raikou is an amazing card but a $510 auction seems very low to me, even $800 seems like a deal but people are not buying at that price.

There was the PWCC Blastoise that went for 5.2k and was paid, but that brought multiple new copies to the market and now one is listed for 4.3k OBO. We have not seen a Venusaur sale since early October but that was still only at $680 (another sold for 800 the same day).

Yeah agree with that on the raikou. Even $800 seems like a good price. I think the weakness in wotc and crash in those prices has started to filter through into the other sets. Sentiment is pretty weak atm across the board.

I’m surprised Gardevoir ex is the highest selling Dragon Frontiers ex and by a landslide too.

It’s been very weird. A lot of the current prices don’t make sense to me. Like, this Zapdos ex PSA 10 selling for $570. It makes zero sense for it to sell for more than the Raikou. Quadruple the PSA 10 pop, much more common card, much easier to grade. Like, I had pegged the Raikou as being at least double the Zapdos. But the market disagrees with me, clearly.

And then this Hidden Legends Jirachi holo PSA 10 selling for $475 best offer. Like, what…this is literally a $2 theme deck holo. And it’s very high pop for a holo. In what world is it worth even 1/5th as much as the Raikou? I feel like either I’m going crazy or the market is…

I’m really hoping prices continue to weaken because I’d love to buy many of these on the dip. $800 sounds completely reasonable (if not low) for the Raikou, given the prices of other cards. It’s a beautiful card, and one of my personal favorites (my most memorable trade as a kid was trading a Dark Celebi for one lol). If I can pick one up for $500, then hell yes…

Haha, nice – congrats! Definitely a price I’d be a seller at, too. They were like $70 pre-COVID, IIRC. It and Regice/Magcargo lol.

Yep, I guess this is why my kingdra suddenly got a lot of interests. I was just chatting with another E4 member on IG today on how PWCC’s kingdra got more expensive than my BIN, and then I received an offer, probably the buyer also noticed this. I suspect someone’s shilling that PWCC kingdra, it’s unlikely that someone’s actually willing to pay $720 for it. But whoever that person is and whatever motivation they have, I thank them, lol.

I’ll give some numbers to update this.

Unseen Forces

  • Tyranitar - I paid $1850 and one sold for $2000 or less on eBay. This was actually my original copy that I graded and I believe the sale happened off eBay.
  • I paid 1450 for blissey and Steelix.
  • I paid $850 for politoed and $1,000 for scissor. I believe that scissor is around $800-900 is because I was trying to get Tyranitar.
  • $750 for typhlosion.
  • $1000 for Ho-Oh
  • I paid a record price of $4,000 for Lugia. There was another sale at 3.3. I missed out on this card at 1700, 2000, 2400, 2600, 2800 and 3000. So I said fuck it.

Team Rocket Returns

  • Mewtwo $2800
  • Suicune - $1800
  • Snorlax - $1600, I know there were previous sales on eBay prior to this at 1400 and 1700.
  • $885 zapdos eBay
  • $900 for entei there was an auction on eBay that ended last week for around 750.
  • $1200 for Articuno
  • $600 for raikou (it’s Deoxys)

FRLG
I auctioned off a newer cert Moltres that went for $458 and I paid $600 for my old cert.

  • I picked up both Mr mimes for round 480 dollars. They seem to be valued at about $225 to $250 each.
  • sold a PSA 9 Venusaur for $660. I believe that the Venusaur is valued at 1800 to 2200.
  • Blastoise was on auction multiple times for 3500 opening bid and there were no bidders. So I definitely wouldn’t put it anywhere near 5,000.

I paid $800 for Jolteon from Delta species.
There was an Arcanine from legend maker that was on eBay for around 14 to 1500. It’s spiked a while ago to around 2000 and then took a while to sell at the price mentioned previously.

I think we talked about this privately, but there was a Raichu PSA 10 from emerald on eBay. I believe it was listed at 2000/best offer.

I need that card and I honestly wouldn’t want to pay more than $250 for it. Because that’s the absolute max it’s worth given the value of other cards.

Bought the Raikou for $600. Seeing the prices many other cards sold for, I honestly felt compelled to do this lol. There’s no way in hell that it’s worth less than triple what Kingdra’s worth (IMO, at least). Much lower pop, much rarer card, much more popular Pokemon, much cooler art. I’ve really been trying to only work on the first three sets until I’m done with them, but the Raikou called for an exception to be made lol. So that’s a new data point for Raikou; hopefully that helps :blush:.
